I saw you with a lag of 2000 (obviously the maximum one can get).
I'll shut it down now. Didn't think it was that difficult to get things running .

Sorry, I cannot join your "no firewall" match (connection error). I'll do some additional testing tomorrow (2:30 am here --> ). Maybe I can figure out where the problem is.

btw, was it possible to start the game and to play some turns?

Hatchy u running winxp or win2k on the client you try too connect too blackices game? in case its ure network settings on ure client thats wrong, Had the same problem myself a while back, solution was using vpn tunneling too UNI, and get all ports open from there(I have 2 routers on my home network dont ask why ).

Btw, i think the easiest solution too this problem would be if some1 with access too a server would set up an vpn server. This would allow all us too connect trough a vpn tunnel too this server, and our computers would think we were on a lan, and we would be able too play lan games

I have some good news!

Someone set up a new game server. Try the attached servers.dat file (don't forget to unzip it ) and you should see a server named 911.alink.namesdepot.net.

Well One observation:

My game runs absolutely normal in the XP mode

I have a dual boot and go to the WIN98SE side and my Call To power runs s-l-o-w so I tried running the server and same there...

I can play no problem just we will be most probably stuck with the long running XP compatibility problem with saved games..

Well i saw and got into the lobby in CtP2, havent tried a game on it yet but maybe soon.

How did you find out about that Hatschy?

The author of the Anet game server software, Dan Kegel, provides some information on his homepage. There is a link to a forum at Yahoo, where the owner of the server posted about it. I used the "gtest" test program, that comes with the source code of the server software, and the information from the forum (i.e. the server's IP-address) to generate the "servers.dat" file. When I used it with CtP, I was very happy to see the server online .
