hatschy works like a charm, have you been able to connect with another player yet?
Didn't have the time for an online match yet. My connection problems in my own server experiments resulted from my second PC being connected over the internet one time and then directly via a cross-over network cable the other time (at least I think so). Windows seems to keep some info from the last successful dhcp connection, which can confuse things.
Ah, well Troll and I just played best connection I have seen yet, good job.

hmmmh ... is someone who plays CTP with a macintosh tried to connect these servers via an internet CTP connection ???
i tried with both my servers.dat and the hatchy's one but ... nothing ... waiting and waiting .............. and still waiting servers ...
i wanted so much to play a mp game ...
I dont know about Macintosh but this evening I was wondering, dont you have broadband cable?
I was thinking that in the Internet Properties then the "connections" TAB make sure "NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION" is checked
else when you try to make a connection in the game it will try dialing up instead of just going to server
Check this out I would wager that may be an issue..as it happened to me before
yes router blackice but ... the CTP servers aren't they on http ports ... no ? maybe another port i can both map in tcp and udp ... maybe you know the right ports blackice !
no grandpa ... i don't have a broadband but a dsl connection always connected to the web ...

good but you did "Look" to see if its "checked" or not?
Once I has same problem and I did nothing, but somehow it became checked and I could not join, but found this to be the reason..
peace
I do I posted it but I'll be darned if I remember where?
Check your router logs it will tell you, seems to me the udp was in the 21155 zone in and out?

Yup udp port 21157 out and the range for udp port in was from 21220-21230-21260.
From my original post:
Nl. server is different it jumps around so I would avoid it but here goes: 195.193.163.56 again outgoing port is 21157.
The tricky part is the incomming UDP port it jumps around too, so it starts at: 21120, 21130, 21140, 21150, 21190. It also comes in on 21220 to 21260.
So if you program your firewalls and your network to allow this information we should be able to use xp for hosting.
Now I did program my firewall to allow the games. server tonight on high security. The ping was 2000+ until I told it to allow the games. address. Once done it settled back to 200 or so where it usually is without the firewall on. So the address is correct as the nl. server was still 4k or so still after making the adjustment to the firewall by adding the games. server address and leving it on high security.
So it would seem to me we need to tell xp with the firewall on to allow UDP ports 21120 to 21290 for incomming. 21157 for out going and again let xp figure out the server address. I would recomend the games server as it seems static.
