            • Classical education ?! Ok, I'm obviously a little behind. Maybe I need to read up on the strategy guide and stuff.

              Hey, I have a random question and I might have even asked it before somewhere, but I don't remember what the answer was. I'm kind of sick of single player CTP and I wanted to download and install the Apolyton Pack mods and the AwesomeAIP(pack) mod. Will that affect my PBEM games? I don't want to screw any of them up, but it sure would be nice to spice up single player play with some mods.

              • anything that goes under "scenarios" wont affect MP games. anything that modifies something else, will.

                  • that's the impression I got from the readme files. it sounds like Awesome Aips might affect things a little since the AI turn is right after mine and is run by my computer. but it just makes the AI a little tougher, that's all. nobody objects to that, right? :P all the other mods just go in the scenario folder. i'm going to go ahead and try it. We'll see how it goes next turn.

                    • according to my limited knowledge of this stuff, AIs are controlled via SLIC files and SLIC files are only loaded when the game starts. if you have a modified AI SLIC file under scenarios it wont affect other games anyway. but even if you start one game with a modified SLIC file in your main directory and then change the file, the modifications will only affect the game started with that SLIC file.
                      at least in theory.
