The toolbar is supposed to automatically adjust itself. I will check that out.
I also intended to make a single economics button, with a popup menu (like the view one) for the individual economics frames.
Finally, I will test the 800 x 600 configuration.
The game will never run on 640 x 480.

My internet access is a little tenuous at present - at work the Clash site is blocked, and at home my son-in-law (I am staying with my daughter) downloads gigabytes of games, taking all night. The only time the telephone is free is when I am at work...
However, I would give, for D6 (or D5.2) a very high priority to exploration and fog of war. These will be easy to implement (at least for a one player game.

You have achieved the 3rd circle of hell in internet access .
Fog of war would definitely help the AI be a little more challenging. I'm not so sure exploration should be all that high a priority. While we're talking about it, here is my
Feature list for D5.2
1. Implement tech test incl. military and econ hookups for the limited techs we have so far.
2. Get real provinces going and reorg govt structure
3. Improve AI by at least bunching units into armies for attacks, and improve sophistication of target selection.
4. Put in fog of war (AI will still know whole map for now, since it would be too time-consuming at this stage IMO to have AI able to deal with uncertainty.)
On smaller things maybe include pillaging. I'm sure there are other things, but that is all that comes to mind for now. Suggestions?Project Lead for The Clash of Civilizations

NOTICE:
We have decided to call the forthcoming demo (formerly called 5.1) Demo 6! This will cause some confusion in the threads for a bit, but I think its the rational thing to do in the long run. The reasoning is that since we don't have version numbers (FE V 0.31) that we might as well have a new release every time we have "enough" new features, and these should just be integers per Clash tradition.
To make sense of this thread going forward I think the following mappings are approximately right
Old New
5.1 -> 6
5.2 -> 7
6 -> 8 or 9

I have no absolute philosophical objection to non-integral releases. But the next release should IMO have Tech in it, and thus would qualify for 7 anyway in my book. Lets first discuss what we Want in the new demo and then we'll see. I think we can get a fair amount in it though since it will span the holidays when I can get a lot done.
Also AFAIK there are semi-major refactoring projects in the next release so it will not take a little bit of time. Those not refactoring will make progress in other areas, and I really expect that there will be enough for a '7' release when all is said and done.Project Lead for The Clash of Civilizations
