OK, apparently trying to take the endless waiting out of Civ-type games was a horrible idea.
After a year of working on this in one way or another, I've learned that people actually like to wait endlessly for programs to load, for games to actually work, and for people to finally take their turns.
This, and the fact that I have been rejected by the big wigs at Apolyton from the beginning has lead me to thinking that I'm through with Civ-related programming for good. Some of this has to do with the fact that no forum will ever be made to showcase my game, even though forums exist for games that don't exist, who's production was terminated ages ago, and who's production hasn't even got past the pencil and paper stage.
Nebula, thanks for being the one person who actually played my game. I wish you the best of luck with your projects.
