    The Hferhin Entire

The Dosi call them "Big Uglys". Protectorate Scientists refer to them sardonically as "Proginators Lite". The simple matter is the Hferhin are a enigmatic race, who appear to be as old as The Dosi and Bree.

Somewhere on the Rim is their Homeworld of Aiur. A lush Jungle Planet, it had a strange fungus on it that created a proto-planetmind. Hferhin stories tell of Gods arriving and taking the fungus away with them, to give it a home in the stars.

Some 8,000 MYs ago, during one of the "High Tides" of the Progenitor Civil War, a Usurper vessel crashlanded on Aiur. While the crew was destroyed, much of the data on "Planetminds" remained intact. The Hferhin Gained Faster than Light travel around this time, and entered a empty Galaxy.

For thousands of years, the Hferhin prowled the Galaxy, which was empty save the Progenitors, Fraal, and Bree. Then, roughly 1,000 years ago, the Hferhin fought a upstart race known as the Dosi to a bloody standstill. After one of the Hferhin's most populated systems was destroyed by a supernova, the Hferhin decided to leave this part of the Galaxy, to return to the wild Space under it's control on the Rim.

Now, as the Galaxy grows more and more crowded,The Hferhin have been spotted more often in Orion Arm. Skirmishes between the Dosi, Protectorate, and Gorn have begun. Whether this is the Precursor for a full invasion remains to be seen.

    The Enemy of Morgan Interstellar

The Black Shadow Group, A Constant Threat

Since Planetfall in 2100 A.D., on Chiron, there has been this menace lurking in the cities of Morgan Industries, and now in the holdings of Morgan Interstellar. Believed to have been descended from the Jade Falcons of old Earth, the Black Shadow is an elusive and dangerous terrorist group. Though it first started in Morgan Industries, it spread throughout all factions. There may even be secret members lurking in Sol today. They are a totally secretive and anarchic group. Under no circumstances may a member tell a non-member that he even knows of the group. They favor no form of government but their own, which they label ‘Controlism’. There are few lists of known members, and no one is sure who runs them, or indeed how they are run. Though intelligence groups of all races have tried to crack down on them, all the trails that start to lead to information on them become dead ends. They are very feared.

They are known to be responsible for disasters and attacks on all factions, and our responsible for the Morgan Transport Crash of 2549, the Drone Mine Explosion in 2565, the Spartan Barracks Fires in 2609, the Antimatter Crash of 2645, and the Lab Twelve Disaster of 2689. They have even caused trouble in the Sol System. No member of this group has ever been caught alive, though many have been found dead.

It is believed that several important politicians in the Morgan, Spartan, Drone, Peacekeeper, Gaian, University, and Terran governments are members of the group and indeed the Peacekeeper Diplomatic Officer Henrik Jacobssen was found to be one, but committed suicide before he was caught. The same was true of Morganite Admiral Stephen McLean and Trade Analyst Haj Yeana. Any leads on possible members should be reported to M.I.A. (Morgan Intelligence Agency).

    Races of Morgan Interstellar

The Two Races of Morgan Interstellar

Morgan Interstellar is mostly made up of Humans, this is true, but there is also one other intelligent animal race in the make up Morgan Interstellar. Here is a short description of both races.

(It is interesting to note that there are no non-human cabinet members.)

    The Human Race:

Humans make up 85% of Morgan Interstellar’s population. The Human is also the most well developed race in Morgan Interstellar. The average Human has a tall, erect stature, a hairy body, and four limbs. It stands on two limbs, and has opposible digits on them. They are definantly the dominant species of the territory.

    The Cepheleens (Sea Peoples):

"Like a Samnite of old, according to their oral traditions, the Sea Peoples rushed upon the sky-demons brandishing their tridents. Some were also armed with long, thin daggers called 'sturras'…These sky-demons took huge numbers of them down with their opening volleys of light-fire, but the Sea People's seemingly endless waves of troops broke even the most experienced warrior among the invading Progenitors. The charge broke the Progenitor's line in half, allowing the Sea Peoples to charge up their flanks…thousands of Progenitors died in the most horrific ways that day, the tortures were incredibly barbaric…one cave illustration shows them roasting on spits…"

    -- T.M. Morgan-Reilly, 'The Sea Peoples: A Study'

Cepheleens make up 15% of Morgan Interstellar’s population. They are also the most primitive race in Morgan Interstellar. The average Cepheleen is short, stooped over, with a scaly body. It has four limbs, like the humans, and can walk on either two or four or them. It has opposable digits on its claw-like hands. A long bony fluke runs down its back, starting at the neck. It looks more like a reptile than a human, but it can be made to understand the Human language, and with the help of a microscopic device implanted in the throat it can be made to speak. Like a Human, it has eyes, nose, and a mouth, but unlike a Human it can not speak without the assistance of the microscopic device. They can become incredibly obese.

The Cepheleen is an invented term for them, and certainly no Cepheleen would called itself this. To them, they are known only as ‘the Sea Peoples’, as they emerged from the sea several thousand years before the arrival of the Humans. They can live on both land and sea. In their local traditions they claim that they once destroyed a race of enemy from the sky, and discovery of Progenitor Upgrading Monoliths by our scientists may prove their tradition to be true. It would be very interesting to know how these primitives would have driven the Progenitors away, as when the Morganites conquered their homeplanet they only fought with swords, spears, and trident-like objects. When the Cepheleens rebelled over ten years ago, they were armed with much better weaponry, and were something of a challenge at first for our armies. They favored guerilla tactics, cutting off small portions of our armies and moving in for the kill. Thankfully, the rebellion was soon crushed. They are now devoted citizens of the empire.

Read scientific and historical descriptions in T.M. Morgan-Reilly’s book ‘The Sea Peoples: A Study’.

For the record guys, the Goliath Class Battleships, the most modern 2.2 km warships w/Nanotech Hulls, are based upon the LotR Valen. Most Ranger ships are small, and look like the LotR Liandra.

The more common Santa Fe Battleships, 2.5 km long, but not as advanced as the Goliaths, resemble the second starship Mellian posted.

These ship designs are unique to the University faction in the universe of Beyond Alpha Centauri.

All University ships have extensive cloaking capablities. The cloaking devices are used so that the University can have equal footing, seeing that University has a weaker military numerically compared to the other factions.

The cloaking devices are also used so that University can scout out star systems without interference, hide the University navy from prying eyes, reinforce its isolationist policies, and keep the advanced technologies within the cloaking fields hidden from any enemy sensors.

Holo-pictures of the Prometheus are classified. However, they may be released on a further date when the Prometheus is unveiled to the other factions.

University Galileo and Darwin class Destroyers / scout

    Note:

Galileo class destroyer has more assault weaponary than the Darwin class, as well as extensive anti-fighter turrets. It can carry a dozen UCS robotic units in planetary assault missions.

The Darwin class has the same design specifications and superstructure as the Galileo, but Darwin has more sensors, surveying equipment, and communication arrays. However, it only has half the weaponary as the Galileo and is somewhat more agile. Cannot carry robotic units.

    University Aegis class Heavy Cruiser

    Note:

There are several variations of the Aegis cruiser. The variations include scout cruisers (more sensors than weapons), medium battlecruiser (balance between sensors and weaponary) heavy duty battlecruisers (more weapons than sensors), mini-carriers, and invasion transports (carries dozens of robotic units, or several thousand human troops). All variations share the same basic design and ship structure.

The Enterprise-X Flagship class ship, the UCSS Randius is a heavily modified (as benefitting a flagship) version of the War Carrier. To all purposes and intents, both Enterprise variations share the exact same superstructure designs.

Freud class destroyers are a smaller version of the Einsteins. Both ships follow this standard design, but differ in size and firepower.

    These ships are Hive exclusive!!!

Meaning-only the Hive Empire uses them, no other government uses these ship designs.

All these ships have Hive cloak technology on them. The only ships that do not have cloak generators on board are the Emperor-class, the Battleship and the Battlecruiser class.

The Hive carrier has limited cloak generators but are less effective then other Hive ships.

One problem I'm having is the Frigate and the Corvette. If you all think I should switch the pics. Let me know in the Discussion Thread. Thanks.
