Excellent post, Kassiopeia. I especially liked the two fellows who are wandering about Moonbase. It was much better than my post, I'm afraid. I'd have liked to have had a bit more time on it, but I'm afraid I couldn't find any. The next post, I promise shall be much better. I like your incorporation of light humor into your posts a lot Kassiopeia. Of course, that's probably because I usually write short humorous pieces.

Anyway, Kassiopeia, when we Morganites decide to come over a lob a few missiles into you and conquer your planets, where do you think we should attack first? I know you did a description of InEn holdings back somewhere, but I can't seem to remember where.

Just to say, i haven't started reading the story...mainly because i will get very picky, especially starting it without proper structure in place or feel pressured into making the structure base around the story :P

i darn hope you people made the story vague in some areas :P

also, how will we keep tract of time in the story? when will 2701 start?

I do not really know yet myself, who exactly the mystery man was. Maybe a part of Nova Saturna. I first thought of him being a Coalition agent, but that was just a sporadic idea. This Nova Saturna clue might turn out into something, definitely! Do you have any suggestions of what is on the data disc?

I firstly thought that Greg and Filkins ought to be just guest stars in a few coming posts, but now I am not sure about that at all.
They originate from a couple of guys I know (No, not me!), who are nuts about sighting different sorts of cars and birds. They would travel hundreds of kilometres to see some bird that is uncommon here.

At this time, there isn't any accurate list of them. I would presume that they are literally everywhere.
But, I doubt that the Morganites would like to specifically harm Coalition or Combine citizens, right? Then a best target would be a moon of Jupiter or Saturn with mostly InEn populace and assets. I think the Jovian moon, Callisto, would serve as a perfect target for the Morganites.

One question: can I use gravships? I really like them.

I think Cybergod already used hovercars or something like that in his first post, so I see no reason why not.

Yep - hovercars, something more expencive than a speeder

The data-disk could contain some files regarding the security codes or something. The Nova Saturna are much like the Data Angels in many ways - they desire free access to information and all that.

I thought as well that this is 2700. If you are writing your timeline I guess anything goes so long as it doesn't conflict with the "official" timeline. I think you have to pm Sprayber to get the amalgamated timeline, but im not sure.

Do you think Sparta has the Hive ambassador in their territory, like an embassy, or should Ambassador M'rock just go to the Spartan border to talk with them? I'm thinking that we just send him to the border but don't go in.

LMP was asking when 2701 would start.

We began the story slightly into 2700. I am sure that by now each faction has its own calender. The Terrans will most likely be using 2700 and the Chrion decended factions will use it as a reference to base things on, but will have their own calender. Least that's what I would think.


The Spartan calender started in 2428 when the first Spartans set foot on Sparta Prime. (Kessel was there BTW) So that would mean that it is currently the year 272 AL (After Landing) When Spartans deal with the Morgans or Drones, they use 2700 MY (Mission Year) as a date that both can relate to. Thats the date that they would use in dealing with all other factions except aliens. And with the aliens they don't have much contact except when they are trying to kill each other.. But then you don't really need to know what date it is for that do you.


The post count limit for a thread is 500. We can make that a full year, or we can break it down saying that 250 is a full year. Or we can sort of go along with the flow of the story. I can't really say until we have a better idea about travel times and such. Anyone have suggestions? The thread god is always open to new suggestions from you mere mortals.


Franky thats a good question about the Hive. I rather doubt that the Spartans would have an Hive Ambassador in Spartan teroritory. But I have an idea about how you could arrange a meeting with the Spartans with your ambassador.

The Spartans would have an Ambassador to the PKs on chiron. You could have the Hive ambassador on chiron arrange with the Spartan ambassador a meeting between your M'rock and a Spartan official in neutral space. Both would bring one escort vessel and we could talk on board the hive or Spartan vessel depending on your preferences. This is kind of the way the US does business with countries like Iran and Cuba. Arranged through second parties. I'm not saying that the Hive is like Iran or Cuba or that Sparta is like the US, but this would be an unofficial meeting to discuss things. What do you think? Any suggestions of your own.

I was thinking that the Hive ambassador would go to the edge of Spartan space to transmit a message about a possible meeting. I like your idea about using another faction as a mediator.

However, I think that the Gaians would be a better liason between our two factions. They seem to tolerate our faction and your war-mongering (just kidding!) somewhat. But I kind of want the ambassador to go to the Spartan border and talk with a Spartan representative, but if you don't like this idea than that's ok. Whadda think?

Thats cool with me We can use the intermediatary idea later with something else. Just write it up the way you want and the Spartans will answer.

sorry for not having much placed on the site, but i am working on it....... the hardest thing is the Starmap.......which i finally found a good map showing the locations of stars from Sol, like Alpha Centauri, Wolf 359, Tau Ceti, Altair, etc....... but rest just HM whatever....... dissapointed, as i know i saw maps with names like Deneb, Aldabaran, Proxima and etc....... trying to find those mind, and then decide the locations....... yes yes yes, rather rename the systems and so on, but i like to keep some of the big star names a lot of sci-fis use like Alpha Centauri, Deneb, Vega, Aldabaran, Sirius, Tau Ceti, Epsilon Eradani, Altair, Wolf 359, etc........... rest of the numbered stars can easily change names.

will send the starmap i found to anyone who is interested.....forgot the link to it :P as for the travel time, can someone give the link again of list of stars, which has distances from sol/earth in light years? Would people prefer light years or Parsecs to measure distances?

Now, for the timeline..... i will be doing the GENERAL timeline, which will be posted and which all other timelines will be base around....... the GENERAL timeline is mainly stating the major events or events of importance like when FTL was first developed, first contact, re-contact with rest of humanity, when big wars started and ended, etc............

after that, i can finally work on my Pirates :P and the rest of descriptions i volunteered to do.

What do people think of Battle Suits? (something like Gears from Heavy Gears and Mobile Suits from Gundam).... will not be as tall as battlemechs or gundams.... 5-8 meters in height.

Just thinking up of the various sub-groups/gangs of the Pirate faction...... one is Mercenary who are into ground/space Battle Suits/gears.

don't confuse Battle Suits and power armor please :P

Another thing........if we are going to base years on length of threads...... i suggest having a bit of timing structure and restriction how many posts you use.....and ban OOC only posts! :P

Bob received distress signal from Alpha Fleet, who is being attacked by pirate fleet. orders his fleet to prepare their FTLs for the Sirius system.

etc........

But, whoever posts after the person did....do consider the possiblity of how your actions maybe effected by these events happening during or in the near near future.

also, will have the rule not to jump to far in the future with actions that can easily be nullified by actions of someone else during that time.....unless it is pretty vague and seriously know it wont be effected by any events that will happen during the gap of time you skipped. also, people should avoid not to jump to much back in the past....unless there is some details you would like to be known which explain why one of your future actions as happened or plain flash backs.

what do you people think? may take sometime to get use to and adapt, but should work. Will also be useful for travel times :P and figure out how long things like construction and research should take. dislike instant constructions and research :P

Never mind.......found a site with a list of stars, with lightyears distance from Sol :P

it also as 3d movable map, but doesn't help me much to figure out properly the location from another...... :P
