Makes sense about the Probe team, Trith.
However, Mellian said 1 - 5 foils per 1 foil Unit.
On another note, I still claim the Garland Crater for the University.Geniuses are ordinary people bestowed with the gift to see beyond common everyday perceptions.

already have a draft map, but since there is more people that have joined, will have to restart the process.
before deciding where bases should be, would like to decide where areas of the map the factions will start from, as it will effect where to place bases.
I know University as called for the Garland Crater, Morganites at the Borehole Cluster area, Data Angels (me) on the same continent as the morganites and one of their neighbours, and the Gaians at that small continent/large island middle north of the middle continent (where garland is) and right continent (monsoon and borehole continent).
state where you would like to have your chosen factions to be, with possibly some suggestions as for where the untaken factions should be...especially if you would like to use them for any plot ideas you may have.
it was suggested that the Cult of Planet to be at the Ruins, where they established themselves after splitting off from the Gaians and using a monolith somehow to transport themselves to the Ruins.
I suggested that human crossfire factions to be located near the factions they obviously split off from... like the Cyborgs being neighbours to University on the same continent, Free Drones not to far from the Hive, and the Data Angels not to far from the Morganites.
Pirates not sure who they split off from, considering there is no indication anywhere i could find...so thought maybe they seperated from the Peacekeepers at some point, either because they were refugees sent on with some Foils when the Spartans was invading the Peacekeepers(and later retreated), or simply split off from the Peacekeepers when a group led by Captain Svensgaard an Unity Gun Foil found Unity's only Colony Pod Foil. they split off with a group of interested people when his request to establish a sea base was denied for some reason, but went off anyway with the Colony Pod Foil, Unity Gun Foil and a Transport Foil. They could be the first or second crossfire faction to split off. They eventually established themselves in Unity Sea or wherever after some travelling.
Also suggested maybe to have some natural rivals being on the same continent. like the Peacekeepers and Spartans, University and Believers, and etc... for story telling potential. Oh and they don't have to be always at wars...just that they bump heads a lot like in council or on other matters.
forgot to add in the story settings that all factions will be at peace...as in no vendettas currently happening.

Mellian, let me get this straight...
Monsoon Jungle Contient Occupiers:
Morgan
Hive
Data Angels
Gaians
Drones
Freshwater Sea Contient Occupiers:
Peacekeepers
Spartans
Cult
Pirates (If they establish land bases later on)
Garland Contient Occupiers:
University
Believers
Cyborgs
Small Islands Occupiers:
Gaians
Where would the Progenitors be located? I suggest three likely starting locations.
First location = extreme east of the Freshwater Contient, right on the peninsulas.
Second location = between Spartans and Cult in the northern area of Freshwater Contient
Third location = extreme south of the Monsoon Contient, on the penisulas far south of the Monsoon JungleGeniuses are ordinary people bestowed with the gift to see beyond common everyday perceptions.

I imagine Svensgard head of UN navy, who decided to split off and pursue his own interests, taking a cp and establishing a sea base.SMAC/X FAQ | Chiron Archives

I think Mart has an interest. He said so a couple months ago.
Franky said he would be interested as a sub-author, not as a full fledged author. Refer to his post several months ago.
I dunno about Trith. He seems to add a lot of comments, views, perpesectives, etc. I haven't seen him state that he would like to become an author.
At least thats what I can remember.Geniuses are ordinary people bestowed with the gift to see beyond common everyday perceptions.

Everyone wants the Monsoon Jungle, or the chance to conquer it.
What are these dark green and llight tan colors? The dark green next to Freshwater Sea, and the tan cut in half at the top left and top right edges of the map.
Are these Progenitors? If so, which Progenitor = which color?Geniuses are ordinary people bestowed with the gift to see beyond common everyday perceptions.

Heh. Sorry. Been a while since I played Progenitors in SMACX. I tend to play with them off since they don't do anything. No super-alien invasions like in Spartan Chronicles, sadly.Geniuses are ordinary people bestowed with the gift to see beyond common everyday perceptions.
