Hmmm I think I saw a tool somewhere to allow the base's normal icons to be preserved on a Scenario game, but I don't remember where... I'm almost sure It was on WePlayCiv.com... Do you know the existence of such a tool Bdanv? Maybe the tech trees would be fixed by this tool also...

Another player answered my question about the faction's icons. I think this might help keeping the original icons:
You describe an Alpha.ini file problem.
What you want to do is start a new game with the same factions in the same order as your scenario game. Save the game with some name you'll remember. Exit that game, and load the scenario game.
Any time you've played a non-scenario game in-between, load that special faction-order save, and then the scenario save. Problem fixed.

Sorry to be so late in the reply. This last week has been a zoo for me. Dell finally swapped out my buggy M65 with a refurbished M4400. This was a good deal for me, but it still meant reinstalling all of my applications.
Anyway, either scenario is fine with me. Since Elain perfers Scenario 2, then that is what we will go with.

Hi Bdanv, As you said the game would be set up Thuesday I wondered what was going on. Please just tell us if you prefer not setting up the game as a CMN, if you don't have time to or just prefer not to do it, there is really no problem if it is so. Just let us know so we can find somebody to do it.

Remember that there might be a way to keep the base's original icons: i'm not sure if I can do it myself if the game is already at the second turn when I receive it, so here it is -

Personally, i'm using 'iniswap' for all my SMAX PBEMs. if you want, i can give you a step by step help on how to use it.

I could absolutely be interested in playing one of these types of games. For ease of setup I could play one using exactly the setup of this one -- Anyone?

I'm testing the scenario and i made two changes to the starting scenario #2. you can see them in red above:
- added the probe team as a unique starting unit for the Angels
- map not visible.
I can still change the last option and make the outline of the map visible if that's what you want.
Also i have to know if you want to have contact between your factions before you actually meet in the game. (meaning: you can exchange techs between your factions from turn one).
*Note: this will affect each team's beeline to IA and also how quick you will be able to elect a Planetary Governor (because of the comm links).

All factions would definitely start with comm frequencies of faction mates. This give a big commerce advantage for the 3 teams, but that is the way it goes. We should not start with comm frequencies for the other team.
