SMAX PBEM: Planet Full of Troubles

This is the turn tracking thread for the SMAX PBEM "Planet Full of Troubles". Players are in order:

Flubber - Cult
Marky - Gaia
Bodissey - Morgan
Mart - Angels

All players start with 1 CP, 1 Speeder CP, and 2 scouts (the Cult starts with 1 MW, and the Angels start with 1 Probe).

Arakaria, have you downloaded the save and started the game? I am still waiting for you to send me the save from your turn, and the game has already been posted for almost a week.

I hope we can get the game going soon!

Note that I sent Arakaria a PM last Thursday pointing to this thread and what to do. As of this posting the turn still hasn't been dl'd.

We are not talking about a big time commitment here. All told, it will take maybe five minutes to download the game, play your turn, and email the save file. No matter how busy they are, most people can find 5 minutes.

Please give us the courtesy of a post if you are no longer interested in the game, so that we can know to find a replacement player.

No problem to find a replacement-- I woud happily step in-- and playing the cult I would have a built in excuse when my rusty skills results in my getting my butt kicked

Ok so THESE are the settings

Large world
Default settings for everything
Pods everywhere (not just at starting locations)
- Precise research
- Tech stagnation off
- Look first ON, so we can move around all colony pods and decide where first base would be.
- Landmarks (such as Nexus, Boreholes, Jungle) included.

Additional units as follows:

- Googlie's Probe Cruiser at Doc: Init
- SP-88 (6/3/2 with AA capability) at Doc: Air
- Attack Submarine (5/3/5) at Superconductor (you can then reverse engineer this for Probe Subs if you wish).

Players in order:
Arakaria - Cult
Marky - Gaia
Bodissey - Morgan
Mart - Angels

AI's

Hive
PKs
Drones

AIs will not be set to auto-vendetta, nor will the Factions be tweaked in any way. They will be given good starting positions

Map

Map will have some added sea elements, such as Sea Monoliths, underwater volcanoes, etc.

So if I can choose a faction? I see me as having 8 potential choices (really 6 since I assume Aliens are not allowed).So lets see

Uni-- probably my best chance to win of the remaining factions but its just so "conventional"-- I've done the uni to death

Sparta and believers-- just never got into them and they are far more fun on smaller worlds

That leaves Cult , consciousness and Pirates. While I have been playing SP as the Pirates lately and would love to try them in a MP game again I don't know that the map and game was designed for a human pirate player (plus maybe they were banned as lots of people seem to dislike them in their games)--

So thats my longwinded way to say I am happy to stay as the cult--If there was an easy switch to pirates I might do that for a more diverse type game for me but frankly at this stage I want to put darsnan to as little trouble as possible.

So the cult it is !!

All I need is a password and I can play pretty much at once-- Work has set me up with a laptop so I can have a game running on that while working on my main computer
