The break will be a little longer than that, I'm having a weeks holiday starting sometime soon. We've been so busy that we have no plans & are completely unorganized-so we are not exactly sure when we are leaving--probably Sept. 24, once gone I will not be checking email until probably Oct 1 or so.

Oh and I saw an announcement at the end of the turn that one of the aliens have eliminated the other. I forget which but it should be pretty evident .

Oh and the cycons will disappear next turn. They will complete a unit next turn to eliminate their sole remaining base

must have been the usurpers taht were eliminated, i remember i looked into their bases in 2180(?) or so, they were down to 1 base with a single scout patrol in it + enemies at the gates

That sounds about right-- I never met the usurpers IIRC and was actually surprised not to have found them. If they only had one base, that could be the reason

Oh thats fine-- I have a houseguest today so I probably will not play again until very late anyway.

More generally I would be happy with a slower pace. The turns with the Hive can get quite lengthy with all those formers to move around
