The moral of the story is do your diplomacy before you call an election.... (And if you really, really want it, it's gonna cost you!)

I only play from work & I happened to be at work (though not working) on Sat afternoon & played the turn.

I'm afraid this game is RIGged. I've got 2 bases that should have grown in size in 2159 but didn't. I thought I'd wait and see but they didn't grow this year either. I've got 2 more bases that should grow next year. All 4 get enough nuts to grow. If I don't get growth by next year I think the game is a cooked. So everyone cross your fingers.

IIRC the game was initially set up by hobbes predecessor-- Are there ways the game can be modified so that it screws with growth like that?

On second thought, you are the cyborgs and running green, so you should have a -3 growth. That might be it. The pedia says "population growth nearly equals 0", not just "-30% growth"
