I fear that you will have to go without me on this one.Originally posted by SebP
here's an idea... are you all up for another, in parallel to this one? (maybe not as random this time, and with 3 colpods)
After coming back from UK I thought for one time to completely stop playing video games, but after some more thought decided to continue at least this one.
I will not start another game unless it will be played a the rate of less than 1-2 turn per weeks, or if this game slows down to that pace.
This is in order to not to spend more than 2 hours per week on video games. I already spent too much time on them in the last 5 years, and should rather direct my time and energy into the real life rather than a more attractive virtual one.
At least with >2 player PBEM unless playing too much games at once you cannot get "hooked up" in playing 8 hours per day or worse...

I can undestand where you are coming from-- but a game at this still early stage still involves only about 15 minuets a turn for me. As the Hive its actually pretty easy since there is never ANY agonizing over SE selectionsOriginally posted by bluetemplar

It seem to me that the first turns still need a very careful planning since the middle game depend on the choices made in the early game.
I think I spend on average 3 min on most of the turns, but every 3-5-10 turns I still have to do a general assessment of the situation which takes me from 30 min to 2 hours!

Well as the Hive, I do tend to have more formers than most people . . ..Originally posted by SebP
to the cyborgs. i don't mind playing only 2-3 turns a week. 1 turn is a bit slow
btw. i wish my turns would take 15 minutes... more like 3 right now
I like our current pace for now . . . but once we get to the time when turns routinely take an hour, muti-turn days will be impossible for me-- I find that most games with interested players will continue reasonably well but that everyone will be happy to see the rate slow a little as we will all be facing longer turnsYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

Ahhh-- I would never have a 2 hour turn at this stage but then again, I never have a 3 minute turn either. I find that once I move my units and check all my bases and fiddle with the SE sliders, its 10 minutes minimum even at this early stage.Originally posted by bluetemplar
