The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.
Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I'm down to one game at the moment so I could use another. I'll sit in as a replacement as long as there's a fighting chance for my faction. I'll play a new game provided that we agree to NO joint victory. Oh, and please only games/players with a reasonably fast pace need apply.
I was asked to CMN this game. Depending on your preferences I could make some more roleplaying oriented scenario. You might also ask binTravkin for more balanced game - he definitely has more experience than me.
Otherwise, I'm ok. I still have to complete CGN 36, that is my first scenario there, that recently gave me a puzzle (I found a new feature-bug I was not aware of so far) I hope though to have it done quite soon.

I'd like to play, when would the game start?
Although, I don't have AX and I kinda suck...
Hi MeiRen,
this game is already full (as well as being SMAX which you don;t have). There are more games forming over at CGN. Here is a link to the PBEM signup thread. FYI in case your interested in signing up there.
You can also start a thread here in this forum just as Net Warrior did. Players will then group to it and then you can start a game from there. Just make sure you specify that you only have SMAC.
I was hoping you'd be able to find the time to CMN our game, thanks. I'll be playing CyCon. So far we're all agreed on NO joint victory.
I have two other things on my wish list but it's perfectly ok with me if the other players don't want these additions:
1) as in the current ACDG, I prefer that choppers are NOT allowed to attack bases. I've always felt that choppers are too strong and this seems an elegant solution.
2) For research purposes, I'd like to be able to specify one of several possible "starting slots" for my faction.
Anyway, mart7x5, welcome aboard,
NW
ps: I guess it's a given that techsteal if off with CyCon in the game

Name: Aki Luttinen / Aki Zeta-5
Rank: Lt. Jg
Position: Computer lab technician
Country of Origin: Norway
DOB: 06-19-2028
Height: 166.4 cm
Weight: 61 kg
Service Record:
Aki Luttinen born 2028, Hollingsdall Norway, of shopkeeper parents. Studied at Oslo University, earned Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Programming, Masters in Computer Science, Ph.D. Computer Science and Computer Age Philosophy. Became expert with C* and C** programming languages; joined Zakharov Research Institute three years prior to launch of Unity. Assigned to Alpha Centauri crew as expert computer tech.
Details are unclear, but evidence exists she initiated an unauthorized experiment in pre-sentient algorithms, using dormant bandwidth on the Unity computers, possibly on the orders of Prokhor Zakharov. She designed the experiment to run for 40 years, hoping for some interesting results over that unprecedented time frame. However, upon awakening, the crew found a system crash message dated from launch +3 months, along with an auto-stack dump that indicated program failure. Luttinen received disciplinary action for her part in the experiment.
She was stricken with rheumatic fever three weeks prior to arrival. Unaccounted for and presumed lost in hospital bay during Unity crash. Reappeared soon after on Planet surface, now calling herself Aki Zeta-5.
Psych Profile: Emotionally Detached
Though details are unclear, best estimates are that Aki Luttinen is now Aki Zeta-5, a sentient algorithm spawned during aforementioned experiment. How the algorithm entered body of Luttinen is not known; nor is it known how much, if any, of her memories and personality still exist. Post-Planet fall functioning exhibits symptoms of Bipolar Disorder, characterized by erratic behavior.
Her strong emphasis in logic and reason cause her to sacrifice emotion and intuition for pure practicality. High degree of treachery likely. Appeals to emotion, past, and humanity unlikely to succeed. Dangerous in the extreme.
Visions of Alpha Centauri:
The Cybernetic Consciousness evolved from a rogue algorithm in the Unity computers, and offers exceptional intellectual powers to any human who acts as a host for a subroutine of the Consciousness. This faction is dedicated to the promotion of rationality and logic over backward human emotions. They possess exceptional research abilities, and arrive on Planet with knowledge of Planetary Networks and Applied Physics. The Cybernetic ability to communicate and co-ordinate actions confers an efficiency bonus for this faction as well. However, they find it difficult to promote human reproduction, resulting in growth penalties. The Consciousness cannot make the Fundamental social engineering choice, and they are immune to the negatives of the Cybernetic social engineering choice.
These 'old pals unite' type PBEMs have gotten popular lately..

mart7x5,
How's CGN 36 comming along? Are you almost ready to start on our game? If not, just let me know and I'll look elsewhere, not a problem.

I would prefer to not have this rule. Yes choppers are deadly offensive tools, but sometimes the extra range is needed from being able to run the chopper forward until it crashes to attack a base. I can think of at least three PBEMs I've played in where this rule would have seriously limited my offensive options due to distance from my foe.
However, limiting their attacks on bases sounds fine to me, say no more than 2 attacks on a base per turn.
