      As per Senethro's request from AC General, I have listed two of my custom factions' stats:

      Agrarians of Ceres

      #BLURB
      Before vast sky-lines of glass, steel, and metal, before industrialization, before arts, sciences, and cultural landmarks, there was one demarcation that separated and defined the era of humankind. Agriculture. Before organized agriculture, human society was largely nomadic, eking out an fringe existence for which survival was all that mattered, or could be hoped for. After agriculture, civilization could begin. In a virgin world, history will repeat itself. And the most civilized will be the ones who will first fill the bellies of the hungry, and then shall fill Planet with her children.

      ^Formers receive free fungicidal tanks upon discovery of Synthetic Fossil Fuels
      ^{May not use Free Market economics}

      The Nautilus Mercantile

      #BLURB
      While Svensgaard indulges in his Jules Verne and Bluebeard fantasies, the real power of Chiron's oceans remains untapped. Beneath Chiron's fungal expanse is a cornucopia of energy, the envy even of Morgan from his gilded terraces! All that's needed are the right tools and proper industries. Do you, as I, dare to dream?

        So I take it the "Assembly of the synthetic" would be unwelcome.??

        Lets see-- +3 research, +3 Growth, free perimeters, extra food from fungus-- hmm great advantages

        Oh disadvantages-- They may not ise fundamentalism!!

        Oh the horrors the horrors!!

          Wow -- I've looked a bit further at the network node factions -- some are ok but a lot of them are just plain scary strong. Look at "Brave new world"

          +2 Growth
          +1 Industry
          - 1 research
          - 1 efficiency

          Free creches !!!!!

          Compare those attributes to say the HIve and the New worlders win easily. Going Demo/FM means you get a continuing pop boom while in FM and an effective +3 efficiency in every base. The research penalty is a joke compared to an ECON penalty etc etc.

          ------------------

          I've never played a custom faction but was intrigued by your game idea and am looking through the networknode ones for ideas. I want something that isn't too bland and could be fun to play

            Flubber: surprise us. Makes up something totally original that you want to play, that you think other people would want to play and that other people would want to play against.

            I'm giving my blessing to both of Marid's factions if anyone wants to use them.

                Yep, looks fine to me Cata.

                Darsnan, Flubber, you any closer to having a faction ready?

                  I was tied up on other things so go start without me when you get enough players-- but I think I will pursue this avenue further

                  My problem is that I am very good at seeing things that I think are unbalancing but not so good at fixing them

                    Just make something, and to heck with weather its balanced...although lets stay way from techshare, 1

                    Surely there is a faction you would be inspired to do.

                      Ok

                      I can take another look this evening and give you a choice tomorrow morning-- If that doesn't work I can bail out

                        ++ Probe {Enhanced Ability to mindcontrol their enemies}
                        - Morale {Used to having enslaved peoples fight for them}

                        Free Marine Detachment capability {Enhanced ability to parasitically mindcontrol enemy units during naval combat}

                        This is the embodiment of the aliens invading the planet in my "Beta Lyrae" mod, or as close as I can come to it. Note that the "Alien" attribute should be considered a negative, as no one will benefit from trade with me, and hence they would more likely to perma-Pact elsewhere. I'd also say that because this is a Parasitic species, that my only form of victory would be individual conquest (i.e. I cannot perma-Pact for a Team victory). If you don't like this then I'll see what else I can dredge up.

                            Tentatively approved, but going to need some clarifications. What exactly does Alien trait do? Energy grid, captured bases to size 1, use of atrocities both ways without penalty, no participation in Planetary Governor... what else?

                            I'm happy to allow house rules for you such as only conquest victory available for you and no co-operative victory, but the presence of an Alien faction causes trouble for the other victory conditions. The cost of alien bases are not included in the price of Economic victory for the human factions, for example, yet an economic victory still counts as a win.

                            We also need a CMN, preferably one of some experience because of the factions. Another player would be welcome as would any suggested AI factions.

                            Finally, I'm not using a custom graphicset. To avoid duplicate colours we should say what we're taking now. I'll be taking Data Angels purple.

                              I will be using believers graphic set, and infact a modifed believer.txt for my faction, and also some of their basenames, mostly because i havnt actualy created my faction past the bonuses, depending on when we start i could do the real basenames list,etc. i often use my own names ingame anyway though

                                And alien factions splash down at later time,so the CMN would have to set MY 2110 to avoid a double landing?
