My understanding is that dense clouds make for more nutrient rich tiles.

The manual says weak=rough mountainous terrain, and that rougher surfaces are harder to terraform but offer an abundance of mineral resources

Well I guess I'm cool with those, especially the increased nuts. I assume that you will find or make starting positions that do not have an excessive amount of rocky terrain.

Feel free to turn on the "Hive gets 2 turns per round - (the Chairman bullies CMN)" option .

Weak erosion basically leads to more hilly terrain which means there will be either rainy or arid squares and little less rolling squares - thus it's easier to find a good place to start and to expand.

It also means that there will be more rockiness which can be beneficial near to the raininess.
e.g. 1 rainy rolling farm-solar 3500meter square and one mine on rocky - quite a nice combo for a little base.

The starting locations will be cleared from fungus and rocks some tiles away, plus each player gets 2 monoliths near for a balanced starting income.

I have to ask for a bit more time to finish this scenario - Im playtesting a lot, plus Im trying to make some special surprises for you (in Googlie's style).

Also Bush is visiting Latvia on 05-06.05. and you can't even imagine the extreme security going on here.
Everyone is in a rush to finish most important jobs before those dates because it's likely to be impossible to do much then.

And my inability to reach Poly yesterday (did it return MySQL error to you too?) delayed things a bit too..

And I'm little bit confused with the blind-res and disabled SPs.

          What was the decision then?
(I read some agree, some disagree, but the final decision should be made by Archaic)

I'd prefer to leave blind off, and keep the SP's.

                  Things are almost ready.
Problem is playtesting - I need to schedule some more time for it, some 6-8 hours, so I can get to a point in game where my AIs start showing their poisonous claws..

I also introduced SmackSims Worldbuilders mod to this game, so map is much more beneficial AIs and nice to look at for a human (looks more realistic IMO).

That mod is pretty good - makes random maps quite balanced for MP in 2/3 cases.

Is there a handy source for info on Smack's Worldbuilder mod? Hopefully it doesn't require screwing around with Alphax.txt, creating new installations or the like.

Actually all I did was copy the worldbuilder part of the alphax.txt file from Smacksim's Aldebaran mod and pasted it over the existing worldbuilder section of my alphax.txt file. FYI.

This eve I will conduct last few hours of playtesting.
Thus I expect I'll be ready to unleash "Who's Who" at wednesday eve/thursday morning.

Just to keep you up to date.
