CNN, University war zone:
Statements made by Provost Archaic have been proven wrong. “There won't be any gaps in the net this time around...” was nothing but propaganda according to Eastern Front Free Drone military sources. In stories files by embedded reporters with Free Drone Commando Units, 3 University bases have fallen.
In the North, an Airborne Scout Squad seized both Zarya Surprise and Academgorodok. The officer in charge of the operation, Lt. Esmay Suiza was quoted as saying: “Zarya was weakly garrisoned and air support took them out with a smart bomb. We dropped in, did as much damage to infrastructure as possible, and bee-lined for the nearby unoccupied major city of Academgorodok. We won’t be able to hold if there’s a counter-attack but G2 reports that University forces are stretched quite thin at the moment…”
In the South, Airborne Plasma Sentinels seized the prestigious Tsiolkovsky Institute. The officer in charge, Capt. Heris Serrano, was quoted as saying: “Air support took out their Needlejet garrison on the ground, allowing us to drop in cleanly. We’ve taken up defensive positions, our air-net is in place, and we’re ready for a fight.”

Zarya Surprise
Sounds like some really hot action there..-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.
-- Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

Googlie, can I have a resend. I haven't seen hide or hair of the turn.
FYI, I'm going to be quite slow replying for some time, due to extended hours at work (I've literally gone to work at 7:30am and got home at midnight for the past 3 days). In all honesty, you may wish to start searching for a replacement.
*Wonders how the hell the Drones could have managed what they did, without sacrificing every single Needlejet that needed refueling on the Eastern Front*
Meh, no matter. The Drones can't manage my level of industrial production or research, and they can't possibily hope to hold any bases they take. The western front is doomed for them as well. He simply is stuck too far away for a drop, and only has a scant few places he can actually attack. Still an utter pain in the arse to go through with this though. By attacking me, Net Warrior has only guarenteed that neither of us will win this game, meaning that the Cyborgs will. What he was trying to achieve by doing this, I have no idea.Veni Vidi Castravi Illegitimos

Darn, and I was hoping to play the turn this weekend.
Oh well, there's always next weekend.
This is the only game I've got going right now as the only other game I was in ended 5 weeks ago (with a glorious Gaian conquest victory by yours truely). Fortunately, I pick up MoO3 a week ago, taking a chance dispite the miserable reviews. It was only $10 so I took a chance and it was a good find. There's an active community out there and although the game has lots of bugs, it's been heavily patched and modded so it's very playable. I'm still in the steep learning curve phase but at least I'm keeping busy.
Provost Archaic, you are correct. Several Drone airmen did volunteer to fly suicide missions for the greater good.

I failed to deliver to you, because you parked a huge load of troops right on my doorstep, and didn't even have the decency to tell me about it. There was no way I could possibily know abnout those troops at the time I proposed the trade, something you would have been well aware of, and I was only able to discover your deception after I launched a sat, something I couldn't have done in the first place without us having gone through the first few steps of our trading. We both know exactly what you intended from the beginning, the huge troop buildup on my doorstep, not to mention your posturing in diplomatic messages about my weak defences, is undeniable evidence of that, so just stop denying it already. You'll only poison your reputation for future games worse than you already have.
I'm going to have to resign from this game. I know I've been holding this game up for a long time, so it's probably the best solution for us all. I simply cannot deal with the stress from everything in my real life *and* from the huge amount of attention this game demands. This is partially due to the lack of time I have in real life, not allowing me to give this game anywhere near the level of attention it deserves; partially due to the fact that I can see my position is now utterly hopeless (With your unbelieveable military, even though you have a significantly weaker industrial base and economy than I do, I have strong reason to believe you're recieving aid from the Cyborgs against me, and likely were playing me for a fool for quite some time. It also explains why you continued the war in the face of the fact that you could never "win", in the sense that you knew I'd raze all my bases simply to deny them to you if I was pressed too far. It was never about increasing your own position and power level, it was simply about removing me from the game. Well played.); and partially due to the utter frustration of having someone who was supposedly a strong ally being so easily able to stab me in the back, and not even have the decency to admit that's exactly what he was doing after he was found out.
I'll leave it up to you guys to decide what happens to the faction. Honestly though, at this point, if the Cyborgs and Drones are indeed working together, the game is already decided anyway, and there's real no point in continuing.Last edited by Archaic; February 9, 2006, 05:57.Veni Vidi Castravi Illegitimos

Archaic,
I just reviewed M.Y. 2189, the turn I sent the tech to you that was my half of the exchange that you failed to honor. I double-checked to make sure, and you already had an orbital up. I'm guessing that you simply failed to notice, Governor, that I had 9 offensive units in 2 border bases, one east and one west.
That being said, I'm sorry to hear about your RL stress. PBEM is suppose to be fun and relaxing and I'm sorry this game didn't turn out the be that for you. I hope there are no hard feeling bewteen us.
Regarding our last tech exchange which wasn't completed, I was VERY surprised you offered it with my offensive troops in place. My plan in accepting the offer was to scare you into taking time to build up militarily so that I could catch up ecomomically. I had no plan to attack at that time.
I love role playing in these games so I might have trumped up some charges against you in the future, in order to attack, since with the Cloning Vats you would be unstoppable all too soon. But had you started a military buildup when I "warned" you several turns earlier, that would have slowed you down economically as I was hoping, and the game would have played out much differently.

I love taking lategame positions, like BE2\cgn21 etc even when they take hours and hours. But i wonder why anyone would want a position
partially due to the fact that I can see my position is now utterly hopeles
I doubt a CMN can do anything about it unless he can activate the scenario editor for the game, though I haven't dealt with this problem much. If a single turn's delay has a noticeable impact on the game, then it was a very close, very good game to start with, which is a nicer prize than winning.

Kataphraktoi,
As far as I know, there have been no PermaPacts made in this game.Certainly a little too mcuh chatter between drones\cycon at any rate.
What can i say - im a sucker for lategame positions even if they are doomed. I will play the turn.
However it will be a few days before i send onwards.if you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it
