Following the declaration of Vendetta on the Cult by the Hive, the University has been left with no choice but to absorb the Cult as a protectorate, to prevent their lands falling into Hive hands. University drop troops and Needlejets have moved in to protect the citizenry. Cult security forces have been asked to mobilize and relocate westwards, both to help prevent Hive incursions, and to prevent potential unnecessary scuffles between University and Cult forces.

Sorry for the late turn guys. I've got my final University assignment and exams before graduation in the next few weeks, so I won't necessarily be able to play the turn the same day it arrives in my inbox for a little while.

  In the wake of military conflict between Cult of Planet and University of Planet, Data Angels decided to end Pact with the University as the agressor. It is believed, that counteracting possible Hive agression would be better done by aiding Cult's military than taking its bases by force.

Guess I should have read the thread before playing, so I could have seen the reason behind that.

The University would like to point out the huge disparity between the militaries of itself, and of the Hive. Provoking a war with a power known to be developing Planet Buster weapons would be, at this point, suicide. Better to bring the bases under the banner of the University as a protectorate. At least the Hive doesn't look to be tearing up its treaties yet.

Though on that subject...the Hive called council this turn, for some unknown reason. If it was to try and get weapons restrictions lifted, I could see it, but to try and elect themselves governor? What a senseless waste of council time.
