Net Warrior, the way I understand it Lord Chip is supposed to call for this victory. However, I'll do it next turn if we all agree.

The last 15 turns have been a great learning experience, though; especially the impacts of global warming and long distance warfare.

I have a single river square in former hivean territory that rises only 3 meters--whenever I move a unit onto the square the unit disappears... I first noticed this turn and I believe this treacherous river-square has taken 5-10 of my units.

I 've had a few units disappear too. Many have been lost to flash floods as the sea rises and as rivers change course as well. Elevating terrain can be a pretty trick affair. I also notice that duing global warming, land frequently reverts to it's non-terriformed state for no apparent reason.

I'm looking forward to going over the course of the game with all of you after we're done.

Maybe it uses the same game mechanism as earthquakes, which also destroy some terraforming, but not all.

            2234 to Gaians

Well, go and figure, CEO Rubin. Perhaps one too many atrocities........

              2234 to Rubin.

Although I have by far the largest population, I lack the political clout to call for my own election as Supreme Leader. The Peacekeepers get a 50% (or is it a 100%) voting bonus. The holder of the Empath Guild gets a 50% bonus. This makes Rubin #1 and NetWarrior #2, with me 7 votes back.

                2234 to Net Warrior.

We'll wait until Lord Chip has more citizens to vote for him...

                  2235 to Rubin.

I have called the Council to propose myself as Supreme Leader. (I told you I was growing quickly.)

If we do not end the game now:

Net Warrior, be sure to leave me a couple of Pirate bases so that I can get my air force down to contain Miriam.

                    2235 sent to Net Warrior.

Shall Lord Chip rule Chiron? Are the factions--considering their differences--able to live peacefully under supreme gaian rule?

...And the question we all want the answer to: Shall Master Yoda be set free from his gaian prison cell and again walk freely on the alien surface of Chiron--among the happy citizens of a united world?

Well, it was a bit anti-climatic to have played it out. There's no saved game to pass along to the rest of you. Lord Chip was named Supreme Leader with only Miriam dissenting. Since I never infiltrated The Rubinites I don't know The CEO's victory point count. Lord Chip had well over 1000 points including points for Diplomatic victory. Sven had 900+ points including his points for a Diplomatic Victory. Both Miriam and I had less than 200 victory points. I was "retired " to the recycling tanks. I didn't find out what fate awaited Miriam.

Net Warrior, perhaps you are able to take a screenshot of the announcement of Lord Chip as Supreme Leader?

I agree with you that this is rather anti-climactic.

While I was getting the screen shots Rubin suggested, I tried the other alternative where the game asks if I wish to play on without earning more victory points. This time I say yes and then saved the game. I've sent 2236 to Chip. If it doesn't let you guys see the victory screens, I'll post those screen shots for you.

                            Gentlemen:

Speaking of anti-climactic, I received a diplomatic communication with Rubin and a dialog box announcing that I had been elected Supreme Leader. I was then given the chance to play the turn.

Thank you ... and on to Laptop 2.
