Crisler, I suspect that's due to Jamski having to try to open his file multiple times. I just checked his starting setup, and on his first turn even if he had wanted to cheat the difference would have been minimal. For any of you new to the game online, like I was a year ago, here are two EXCELLENT threads on how to play crawlers and a more-or-less Sikander base layout (each base 3 squares away from it's neighbor). I plan to write an article on an alternate game I played with the Consciousness, where I beat their speed at transcend, essentially because of pod popping and bee-lining to the Cloning Vats.
Remember, these are SP. Our map here is just big enough to do this kind of strategy, but it's also dangerous because like all builders if you get the crud knocked out of you prior to air power, you may never recover. Since a good builder will reach air power before a rush or hybrid player, that of course is when they become dangerous, they have a short term advantage and most know it. However, their neighbors are probably aware of this too. Enjoy.
