Personal log: It did my heart good to here the news that one of our scouts encountered my old Unity shipmate, Yang, here on Chiron after all these years. Treaty negotiations have commenced with "The Chairman" and his followers. They seems willing to exchanging technologies with us. Now if they'll just offer something our engineers deem useful....

This plus the fact that our scientists are very close to a breakthrough in that secret project they've been working so hard on all these years bodes well indeed for us. Perhaps we will do well here on Chiron afterall.

Personal log: Our scientists say that any new tech data would delay their current research by years. Our defence council says any delay in obtaining high energy chemistry would be sheer lunacy. The question was put to popular vote and a compromise 3 year delay was decided upon. I hope that Chairman Yank is not too disappointed with this. In the meantime I have re-submitted a proposal for an unconditional treaty agreement.
