    cata: creating the channel happens automaticly when you try to join an unexisting one.

      Here's our direction:

      Rubin: Hm, I am still not entirely sure where to go from here...?

      PJayTycy: Well, what can be done before the SDK is released:
      • Trying to add more facilities
      • Finding out more about height levels
      • Reskinning the navy seals or other units to represent some basic smac units.
      • adding the appropriate xml for those units (ie: giving them the right properties and tying them into the techtree somewhere)
      Other key remarks:
      • Creation of a "Base" version before the SDK is released. In a month or so. "Not as a release to the public, but just so everyone can work on the more difficult things from a common base" -PJayTycy


      Code:
      • We are holding back on crawlers and some other units until the 3D skins can be made for them.
      • Project development is paused until the SDK is released. Which may be Febuary 2006?
      • We can code "hidden" resource gathering. Where you'd never tell from a city screen. Implimentation: Specialists? Satilites? Base facialties? Crawlers?


      Graphics:
      • We lack 3D tools. Here's hoping the SDK fixes this.
      • Where are the python scripts for the terrain?
      • Height is done in the art files. We need to test transition points on the height map. It seems to return to zero height on the grid, further testing needed.
      • We need to step up work on the Texture files. We need an index of Civ 4's terrain and Smac's terrain. For civ 4's global warming effect (tile->desert) should we use desert for fungus?
      • create a graphics section on the Wiki.
      Don't rule me out when I'm losing. Save your celebration until after I'm gone.

        I saw a reskinned SEAL on CivFanatics the other day. A cameo version IIRC. I'll see if I can get the link tomorrow.

          Sorry I've been unable to do this for the past week (didn't have acces to my civ4 dvd anymore). If somebody else wants to do this, go ahead, if not, I'll try to do it as soon as possible.
