I'm thinking of making a faction.... I've beaten the game with every faction in one way or another, and I'm interesting in making my own faction. If I post the basics of what I want, could y'all lend your expertise on if the faction would be too powerful?
My faction is a parody of Clan Wolf from the Mechwarrior series of the games. Thats the type of faction I'm trying to make - a (Warden, and therefore manevolent) military Clan.

Background - Western America, Unity Historian, Weapons Expert
Agenda - Warden Clan; Caste-oriented system; High regard of "honor"

+1 SUPPORT (Luxuries "dishonor a man")
+2 MORALE (Military Caste most "featured" in normal life)
+1 ECONOMY (Caste System keeps members in line and productive)
-1 PLANET ("Slash and Burn" military stategies)
IDEAL - Police State (Military Caste larger than all other castes)
AVERSION - Green ("So what? Its a %&^%ing planet.")
Things I'm think about/unable to figure out
1) Possible +2 minerals from fungus? maybe?
2) I want something about a high regard for honor in the faction. Does the +1 support explanation deal with that sufficely, or what?
3) Starting tech - Applied Physics - would that make their millitary too powerful early on?)
4) Starting facility - I dunno. Rec Commons?
