Also don't forget to trade in crawlers for first time builds of newest armor or weapons on your units. Each of these prototyped units gets a step increase in morale as well. (Although if I recall Spartans did not get a step increase in morale.) I thinkg the cost of adding trained speciality is worth it in this case b/c trading in upgraded crawlers is a cheap way to prototype, adding trained to the unit for a two step increase in morale (before considering base facility improvments) is usually worth it for most factions.
