Help please - perimeters/tachyon fields don't work

Hi all

Yes indeed my perimeter defence does work against infantry (can't test tachy yet as Miriam is on the run).

Now I have to explain all this to my evil sarcastic tech-head mate (think Zak on a bad day) and I will be ruthlessly mocked for the next fortnight (not that he had anything useful to say about my problem!) Still what's a bit of ritual humiliation compared to the joy of having my game back.

Weak and noble or strong and ruthless? I get to play strong and noble every time now but I haven't quite got the bottle to go up a level. Or the brains by the looks of things.

Been up all night now on this damn thing. Bedtime! and thanks all of you for the help. Now go and put this on your top 10 dill-brain thread.

oh forgot to say - in puny defence of my ignorance - my game was second-hand and didn't have the manual. I've only seen the manual in last couple of weeks. And I can tell you it made a lot of difference to my performance. Hey, I didn't understand the point of crawlers till I read it - and you can be sure I'll be reading this forum like crazy too.
