No insult nor compliment intended-- Its just that clean mins has been discussed and explained at great length in the past. If a player does not understand how it works they are at a great disadvantage,

A player that knows how it works can manipulate Planet to their advantage. It can be joyous to be pulling in hundreds of ECs and getting bunches of morale upgrades killing worms every turn. It can be equally satisfying to be producing very high minerals with ZERO fungal pops.

I know that busters and tectonic missiles generate eco damage, but I never noticed nerve gas having any influence on that, and I've been gas'n Usurpers left and right and stapling my citizens during solar flares?

nerve gassing aliens is not an atrocity and does not cause ecodamage. Planet is somewhat odd in when it gets upset actually

i couldnt agree more,that knowing any game mechanic can be turned to good advantage. but this is a bit to serious for my tastes-ive played other games to be good and have gotten VERY good,but i dont want that here. i have made little effort to improve skill like i would otherwise. its allways satisfying to win with good skill and very fun, but for the moment i just play games for fun without worrys about skill lvl

^^^His point was that your not the only person in the universe. We make these threads and archive the data for everyone that might need to know, not necessarilly the person who asks the question.

Thats why the search functions and references to other threads are so important, your not the only person that has needed to know and your not the only person that ever will need to know.

My initial comment was general to anyone-- I think to become a moderately proficient player you need to understand clean minerals.

Later I was speaking to you to clarify that the first comment was general.

What's interesting is that you don't dispute my assertion at all. Instead you indicate that you are playing for fun. I can respect that actually. Playing your very best in smax requires good knowledge and attention to detail. .
