  • Please Don't Go, The Drones Need You, They Look Up To You

It's been a very long time since I have heard those words. It felt good to go pod popping again. To walk the halls of Sparta Command. Go toe to toe against Yang and his evil utopia.

The girlfriend was away and I was all alone except for the cat. I looked through my pile of games and came across good ole Alpha Centauri Crossfire. I put it in the drive and to my horror rememberd that I had unistalled all of it so I had to hunt up Alpha Centuri and sure enough it was on the very bottom of my cd pile. After a brief install I was once again on Planet listening to Morgan, Yang and Sven telling me how puny I was. Well I was but I got back into the swing of things and soon Sparta was once again on the move.

Conclusions: this really is a great game. Something that still keeps me up until the sun comes up and wondering where the time went.

Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

I do the same thing with AC and Civ2. Sadly, I don't find Civ3 to be as emersive as Civ2.

I learned my lessong about uninstalling games such as this.

I always end up with the urge to play, but I hate installing games.

I currently have 16 full sized games installed on my hard drive right now. SMAC is one of them. I haven't played smac in a couple of months though. But a couple of months ago, I was really in a smac mood. I played several games.

SMAC never leaves my HD. And if I need to format it, SMAC is the first game to be reinstalled. ALWAYS.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

If I needed a change then MAYBE CIV2

SMAC is always on my computer and ready to go. Its the most played game on my computer! If the computer crashes, its the first game loaded back on!! Been playing since the game came out!! My CD's for it are in a protected area on my desk...not just anyone can touch it!!

If my Husband only knew how many hours a week I spend sitting here playing SMAC.......

Darn in this new house I cant hear the Garage door opening when he comes home!!! Just kidding!!

Ya know, there's a saying, you can't con a conman. Well, you can't lie about your SMAC addiction to fellow SMAC addicts.

Nah, it took me at least four years before I stood up here and proclaimed that I was a smaxaholic - though, it hasn't helped a bit to admit my abuse

Everytime I decide to read up on CivIV I get the urge to return to CivIII. And and I love it, for the first 20 turns. Then I re-realize how trite it really is.

So then, I notice that SMAC folder sitting there. I try not to, but the mouse seems to just jump over there.

And finally, I realize that my poor butt is sore, the sun is up, and I am already 30 minutes late for work.

If a SMAC2 is ever released, I may just have to quit my job and roam from wireless enabled coffee-shop to wireless enabled coffee-shop, laptop in my grungy bag of possesions...
