    Well yeah sometimes... Sometimes though, I'll send choppers half way round the world to take out the defenders at a base making a PB. Since the ai's missles have infinite range, they'll be able to hit me even if I'm on the other side of the planet... Very annoying.

      Why not patch?

        Another thing is that AI changes production in your turn, so make them change to a garrison and sabitoge that.

          Nice idea, Qwerty. I'll try removing all defenders and not taking the base next time.

            Does inciting drones also overrules Secret Project drone quelling abilities? Ie. the Longevity Vaccine and Planetary Transit System.

              It adds base drones.
              The SPs still have their effects, but the base has 1 or 2 extra drones to start with.

                Ever try taking a base with just one unit, if the base has a lot of minerals its hard, so a probe team can be very useful in disabling defenders being built

                  Even fully patched, that bug's still in there.

                    Is it a bug? I would consider it a feature to keep the AI more competitive.

                      The bug actually helps AI because it allows the garrison to be built a turn early so the base isn't captured.

                        The change in base production should happen just before that AI's turn though. Less exploitable while still helping their base remain uncaptured.
                        I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                          I believe there is even a flag in the alpha(x) text to turn on this kind of re-tooling for the player. Not during another player's turn though, but during the upkeep phase.

                          40, ; Retool percent penalty for production change;
                          2, Retool strictness (0 = Always Free, 1 = Free in Category, 2 = Free if Project, 3 = Never Free)
                          the '40' is from Aldebaran. I think it's 50 normally.

                          So if you could get an upkeep in every base, from drone riots, golden age, or something, you could always change production, just like AI. Never tried it though.

                            I think that phase of upkeep occurs after building things so if you have a drone riot so you switch to rec commons and rush build it it won't get built till next turn.

                              That's true, but I seem to remember some exploit with that. Isn't it possible to build twice? If you have lots of minerals, build a scout or something, then drone riot, put another scout in the queue, and both will be built? Gads, it's been a long time since I tested things like that.
