Well I just updated AC with the 4.0 patch, and the Governor Infiltration is working. But now I remember why I didn't install the patch, because I can't get any in-game sound. Can't win for losing I suppose. Thanks a ton for the help though guys, you rock.

Looks like a forums search is in order for WInXP sound problems with the 4.0 patch.

I had that same sound problem with a Win98 computer, but another Win98 computer has no trouble at all with SMAC 4.0 sound...
