  • Are you looking for something in a hurry? Then I can just grab it for you.
When it'll be fixed is hard to say. We're all very busy with civ5 related stuff for Apolyton.

Right now I'm also working on disclosing the old server forum so that you guys can go there and grab the stuff you need.

Can you send a link to the old server when it is ready?

Well, all the APT (Astrologix Pitboss Tournaments) related attachements are gone: games captures, results images, files....
You have all the main links in the 9 first posts of this thread
        http://apolyton.net/showthread.php/1...LASIFICACIONES

Same problem with all the Progressive Games threads. I can send you a folder with all the links.

Needless to say that, if done manually, it will be a lot of work

        • I managed to get the site mostly black text on white background, but some pages remain unreadable white on black like this one: http://apolyton.net/forumdisplay.php...Hints-and-Tips when this other one http://apolyton.net/forumdisplay.php...ategy-Articles looks just fine.
Why doesn't the site apply my preferred color scheme to all of its content, and insists on shoving a style I can't bear into my eyes?

          • Ok, I have re-opened the old server now to give you guys a chance to get what you really need. We want to save the attachments ourselves, they're all on the new server, but somehow not linked.

If you change your url's to http://settler4.apolyton.net/... you get on the old server. Everybody should only have reader-rights there. If not, please let me know and I'll fix it. It's not good if the old environment will be 'living'

if there are threads that did not move from old to new, please post their ID here. (like this thread's id = 192480)
I'll ask Jeroen if it's possible to move these manually. No promises though!

            • I'm not sure if you moved the private fora, but I had access to some private forums that were archived in the old server, but I don't have access anymore.

forums/forumdisplay.php?f=166 was one, but I could do with access to forums 165 through 171 if you wouldn't mind That way I can tell you if anything needs moving...

Thanks. I was able to grab the attachments from http://settler4.apolyton.net/forums/...=105623&page=2 that are missing from the new http://apolyton.net/showthread.php/1...e-format/page2, and saved the entire pages 2 and 3 while I was at it (I saved Page 1 long ago just in case and have used it a decent amount offline).

HOWEVER, although I couldn't reply to threads, I was able to change parts of my user profile. Thus I changed my signature to "Browsing Apolyton old-style!"; my signature did not change on the new server. While it's certainly not as bad as being able to modify or add posts, the possibility of people changing their profiles and settings for the old server only is there. I also noticed that the Report Post button appears to be working (although I didn't go through and actually report anything, the form for the description appeared). Finally, the "Send an e-mail to [name]" feature appears to be working, too, so it may be possible to send e-mail to users at an e-mail address that they have since changed. A few other features may be enabled, too - I didn't try to check everything.

Not sure how serious if at all these are. The e-mail could throw someone for a .

He had a thread going about this question. It's probably still there, but anyway...at the top of the page:

                      • Server was changed too? And about those Apolyton-related sites (SLeague, and others), they're still on the old server too? Acessible?

                        Thanks in advance

                        • Encountered another bug today with the new forum... it has to do with links to anchors within a thread. At least on some old threads (not sure if it happens on all of them, or if it happens on new threads), they don't work. For example, on this thread, clicking on the Ver # link goes to http://apolyton.net/#bic_verh, which doesn't exist, of course. The link code is:

Edit: The code tags didn't (entirely) work! I guess you'll have to hit "Reply with Quote" to see the quoted code. But it does redirect to http://apolyton.net/#bic_verh, even in this post.

But for whatever reason that doesn't link to the place on the same page .

The link working correctly can be seen on Settler4: http://settler4.apolyton.net/forums/...ad.php?t=48062 (the same thread, on the old server).

This instance of the bug isn't a problem for me as I've downloaded what I need either before the switch (hence why I didn't/hardly noticed it until now - I usually just use my local copy), and downloaded the rest from Settler4 today and last week. But there may be other places where this problem occurs, and those links are extremely useful when using a thread like that extensively for reference. I'd put it as "should be working" on new threads, "nice to have" on old ones. Once again, thanks for making Settler4 available for grabbing old information that suffered a few cuts or bruises in the transition.

                          • Hi, I havent been here for a while. The new visual look is truly fantastic. I especially love the SMAC-theme colours you have used
White, grey, orange or blue text on black is the easiest to read and most visually pleasing for the eyes. Great work!

                              • Robert,

I've experienced a post count reduction, probably due to the migration (according to MikeH). Haven't read the whole thread, but is this common? What can be done about it? I was an emperor with + 3000 posts, is it possible to get those back?

All these years here and nothing to show for it... :-( ;-)

                                Thanks!
