why do all the adds for the forums (at least for me) have to deal with alcoholism and curing it? What are you guys trying to say about me . I noticed one is a local center, so somehow they know where I live.

edit: well I guess I have a decent reason for posting here now. The smilies don't work. specifically the scared smiley I used on the above post.

Maybe it is just using one time, which happens to be yours. Try changing your local time. (Duh.)

I don't think he's at GMT+6, as the forum clock is.

When viewing a member's profile, some button graphics are showing up as the red X's of death. Specifically "Send Message" and "User List".

I'm pleased to see you've bitten the bullet and upgraded the forum and I can quite understand that there are various glitches. Some of the smiley icons appear to be missing and the ones that appear in the panel to the right in an advanced post are not the one that I would expect most people to use regularly.

I know it might be heresy for some people but have you considered looking at other sites e.g. CFC for ideas on how to layout forums posts? After all they have been using the later versions of vBulletin for quite a while.

Btw why is this forum going so slowly?

EDIT: The local time on the left panel time is correct but why on earth does it show GMT+5 on the post? I thought this forum was GMT-5?

our old layout was even worse for noobs, not to mention not much in the way of story or MP ladder boards, and the Off Topic Posters like to make fun of most newcomers. Most fresh ideas have been squeezed out of our regular strategy posters.

By slow I meant taking a long time to move from page to page in this thread, not to mention trying to post.

If your time is wrong, it may be because it's probably tied to your profile time, not your computer time. You likely have it set to the default GMT time, or something thereabouts.

- That being said, the Local Time, Local Date info is completely useless, please remove it.
- Also, asher did actually have a good point when he said make the widescreen the default when people log into apolyton, it's much easier to navigate (if you are insistent on keeping local time and date).
- Asher also had a good point about increasing the width of the quick reply box.

We are still investigating the load issue. If the issues persist we'll have to do some changes that will require an extended downtime, but hopefully should resolve the issue. But since we aren't entirely sure where the roots of the load problem lies we are trying other measures before we take the site offline completely for a day if all goes well, more if something goes bad.
