    Now how about the stuff at the side? The Local Time / Local Date / Postcount bloat...it's making posts too long, and that stuff is useless. We can view profiles if we want that info.

      For post time problem, Asher's link to http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=140, say to try this:

      Have them check their time zone and DST settings:

      User CP -> Edit Options -> Time Zone

      And try disabling your plugins. I have seen some addons that mess with post times:

      Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System


      I've done my part, now it's your turn.

      Edit: If I set my time zone to GMT -11, post time is now correct, but forum time is not.

            Post time is fine for me (GMT-5; DST Correction: automatically detect)

              forum time is still wonky

              my time is a few minutes past 12pm
              the forum says this was posted at 5 pm...

              but when i go to options, the bottom text properly acknowledges my time as 12pm.

              so the problem is in the way posts are recorded / saved somehow, not in the time compensation.

                Asher: use Restricted Extra Wide. It has a lot less of that stuff.

                  Has anyone else tried the Mobile theme? I'm on a Palm Treo 700wx and it's nice and streamlined. Quick load time too. I can post at work very easily!

                    I want the posts to be shorter, and the layout now makes them too tall and the "extra wide" doesn't make them any shorter -- in fact it adds more space taken up vertically, which makes it worse.

                        The restricted EW style uses the legacy postbit with userinfo to the left. Have you even tried it?

                          Arrrgh! I switched to this theme to try it on my computer, and now I can't figure out how to switch back to a more computer-friendly theme .

                              The ad serving system did set the timezone to UTC some time through pageload, and didn't set it back. That's why it affected users that are to see ads.
