Ok - let's discuss estimated probabilities for when Civ4 will be finished.

            Here are mine:

            1 month: 10%
            2 months: 10%
            3 months 40%
            3-6 months 20%
            Never: 20%

            • Probably never; even if the next patch does materielise, I doubt that will make the game finished...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

why is Meier getting into MMO business? isn't that a rather big task for a small company? what kind of MMO-games are there anyway? wonder whats the theme? not all MMOs are WOW clones, right?

                    • I will play Civ5 for sure. But whether I buy it depends in turn on whether they finish the previous game.

As strange as it may sound, but Civ4 was the first Civ game from that I didn't get my money's worth. Not that it is worse than other Civ sequels, for sure it's not. But for reasons beyond my own understanding I simply could not bring it over me to play it enough to justify the original game plus 2 expansions, and not to forget lots of time hung out in gaming forums.

In this light I may well pass on Civ5, just like I passed on Settlers 4, 5 and 6 after 3 turned out a disappointment, or the third incarnation of AD after loving 1402 and not liking 1503.

I hate to argue against such reasoning, but how could a civ MMO be a WoW clone?

                              • Quick summary: Dale goes down in a silly set of self-induced flames; Australian history discussion will get you banned; Civ IV, the single finest computer TBS game ever produced and its fabulous mod, BtS, are "unfinished and/or buggy;" and Sid said he'd like to try an MMO, which led some here to presume a Civ-like MMO -- which he did not say. All this, and we are now on page 5 of the nuanced, and sometimes silly, discussion mostly of two sentences in the whole interview. We do love our Sid!
