Yes, I've been banned for "violating the upload policy" by uploading a picture that was "not civ related" in one of my "news" threads for one of the demogames.

IIRC it was a picture of a lego boat back when the GoW was at war with the legoland team. I have photos in the previously, and since, that are less "civ related" as I often upload funny pics with my "news" treads for the demogames.

It was a 24 hour thing, and over before we had even spoken beyond the canned response to why I had been banned. But we have managed to prevent it from happening again. Many more "news" posts and accompanying pics have gone off without a hitch.

I'm still confused how it was one particular picture that got flagged for the banning, and yet the same thread, and my upload, at the time held at least a dozen more that were just as "non related".

I did the same.

Obviously, I had been banned with absolutely no warning or request to remove the single non-related picture, and without an explanation to go along with it.

i imagine it is a far worse sin than trolling, spamming or insulting, as those guys usually get multiple warnings, and are sent a PM explaining what they did wrong - and I was obviously treated differently

That would have been some time ago now, and such violations are no longer treated so harshly.
