Great show, though I was really looking forward to hearing KMad.

Odd, couldn't locate the thread at CFC.

      WTF is CFC?

Just a few quick notes. By spherical map, I mean an actual spherical map, one that had accessible Polar Regions, not the cylindrical we play on now. There was some discussion on that a few years back. This could be fun for special map types, like a desert planet might only have arable land on the edge of the polar region. Global warming might melt ice and turn it into tundra or ocean, ect.

The government in civ2 was called Fundamentalism not Fanaticism.

My concept for religions getting traits would be similar to a RPG leveling system. Certain actions would give the religions experience. Priests could add small amounts of exp per turn, succeeding or even, to a lesser extent, failing (since we learn from our mistakes) to spread a religion would also give the religion experience. Civs that have adopted that religion, building religious wonders would also give the religion experience (this might need a better name )..

New religions would start with the average exp of all the older religions and should get a 100% boost to experience until they (if they ever) reach 15%.

I’ll comment on the episode once I’m done listening to it.

          Good job!

A great episode, if not for any other reason, for the free publicity I got. After having been left out from two episodes, I felt neglected.

But seriously, Mackie the Guest Co-host , I even liked Imran and DanQ in this one!
I’m glad the polyteam likes my idea for villages of the sea, please post your comments in the thread…

Its nice to see that polycast will be going strong even without Locutus. I would like to point out that there was no strategy discussion in this episode... I didn't miss that too much in this episode, but try to get some for the next one.

I'm not too keen a listener, I multitask a lot. I don't quite remember the context, but I did hear Fanaticism.

Technically the entire show is based off of fanaticism. We have a govt.!

I'm hopeful we'll have the complete second season panel for the next episode at last.

Odd, couldn't locate the thread at CFC.
I posted it in Civ4-General there as there wasn't anything (really) BtS related in it.

Yes, there was no Senate (strategy) segment as Forum Talk and Research Lab were focused in on more. Under the first season format where episodes were longer there was more flexibility in terms of number of segments and topics within segments.

                  Senate shall return.

Was it really necessary to attack CTP and CTP2's combat system? If you actually played those games you would see that it's combat system is far superior to Civ IV's

Simply put, we disagree with that assertion hence our expressing our dislike. To each his (or her) own though.

Well, since civV is going to have CTP style combat, you better get used to it.

You can add y-wrap to x-wrap to have a true sphere, if you want... it's very odd but possible

Everyone bought Imran's correction but you, good job.

How soon we forget the details of a game that brought us so much enjoyment.

EPW, would you have prefered that someone contacted you and shared with you on what basis the powers that be were going to disagree with your assertion thereby giving you a chance to respond?

                                Here's how it might go...

DQ & team "We don't agree with what EPW says about using the CTP combat system in CivV because blah. Here's how EPW responded to blah..."

Someone reads EPW's response... "yadda yadda"

EPW, would it have made you feel better about having your idea summarily dismissed if you had been able to defend it?
