What do you believe this smilie adds above and beyond ("beyond the animation")?

            the same that adds above

it is just a more expressive way of showing expectation

It adds little. As do more than half of our current smilies. What do we need useless smilies we never use, like the new bts, civ4, great person as such smilies? None will ever use them, and rightly so. If I want to discuss great persons in civ, I hardly will use my time on looking for and using smilies like that. Why would I want to write a sentence like "The system in is well enough, but I still miss some of 's elegance."?

QFT! Instead of those silly ones, we need:

DQ, you're right not to let our techno minions near this, it's too important. As LS suggested, Sub continent the work out.

No, those smilies aren't great in that context. However, they can be useful when making strategy posts that, for example, list the effects of various stuff or discuss advantages. Writing something like:

Great Wall: prevents Barbarian entry; +2

or, "so at this point, my capital was: 35 , +8 and 21 "

These things are better, can make for some convenient reading, given that they make posts similar to how the info actually appears in the game.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
