Yes -- we have statistics reports run off our server by third-party software.

I said 'Poly listenerbase not listenerbase.

Ah. Well, we can't at all determine how many of our listeners are members here. That'd be an area where we can only guess.

              Not at all. He says:

That's speculation at best, and I am one that will disagree with it.

He says that the votes are less than 10% of our estimated audience, and that's correct. How much of that audience is registered here we have no idea.

I don't want to be rude but reading comprehension is key. I said:

Dan replied that he had reason to think otherwise. So either there must be some way of determining the 'Poly listenerbase (i.e you are wrong) or he is wrong.

I don't think anyone is wrong here, I just think we understood each other differently. Dan probably thought, as I did, that you were referring to the total PolyCast audience, not the part of it which is here at Apolyton.

And I'm certainly not aware of any method to tell how many of our listeners are actual Apolytoners, as mentioned.

Neither Solver or I are wrong.

                    Agreed.

When you, DS, were mentioning the Poly listenerbase for PC in what I quoted from you, you were referring specifically to those who are "posted and voting" about the show here. We cannot determine what part of our Apolyton's listenership are posting and voting; as I said:

That's speculation at best... Exploring that point is a non-starter.
When I mentioned the third-party software showing that our Poly listenership was higher, I was admittedly making a fine distinction but I was referring to all of Apolyton's listenership whether they are registered in the forums or not, posting/voting in threads about the show or not. Besides, we cannot be certain who voted in the poll relative to who posted comments in this or any other show-related thread. Some people could have done one or the other after all.

It's that third-party software I alluded to that tells us that our listenership is larger than what you say you believe it is, regardless of distinction between Poly members and not. Here's another possible wrinkle: someone could have just registered to be able to vote. Does that make them part of the Apolytoner listenership though? Well, how long were they "lurkers" if at all before registering? We can't say. Plenty shades of gray.

A nice gesture but no forgiveness is necessary -- you weren't that clear. Glad to have had this sorted out though.
