Good grief, DS... I was being considerate so as to ensure that I properly understood your suggestion. I even provided an example of what I was getting at. I could have presumed one angle or another, but I decided to ask for clarification. That fits only a very skewed definition of "pompous"...

Should you still wish to pursue this further, please do so via PM.

Nah, let's talk about the poll results instead. Looks like the majority are in favour of shorter releases.

Less than a week to go before the poll in this thread closes... if you have not yet exercised your opportunity to vote, in it please do so. All we ask is that you make sure it's an informed decision.

The 30-40 minute choice almost doubled second-place 51-60 minutes in this poll with the remainder receiving one vote apiece. The result of this poll, as well as the discussion to date at least, will be taken into consideration among other factors in determining future episode length.

It's a matter of opinion on episode length, and again this poll and discussion is one factor in consideration of it (as has been said all along). The chunking of episodes regardless of that length is still a reasonable and valid option.

I think I missed the poll, but I vote for 30 minutes.

Bit of a landslide really - I guess the arguments put forward to support this option were really strong.

-- a "landslide" in a poll where, conservatively even, less than 10% of episode listeners voted is a bit hollow.

Probably a large proportion of 'Poly members who listen to PolyCast voted.

That's speculation at best, and I am one that will disagree with it. Exploring that point is a non-starter.

Well you have to look at the numbers posting in the 'PolyCast threads. Sure there will be lurkers listening but my guess would be that those posting and voting make up a large portion of the 'Poly listenerbase.

Unless you have reason to think otherwise?

Not at all. Those posting are a small part of the audience. While we do not have fully accurate statistics, we do have fairly good stats that allow to estimate the amount of listeners. It's certainly much higher than the amount of people posting in related threads.
