I finally got the e-mail. It was in my spam folder. That proves the sight is nothing but spam.

I approve of the merger as long as I get to keep my 1970 status.

          Re: Apolyton & CivFanatics Merging!

I was hoping this was for real, and that the joke was that it was in fact for real and not a joke, but that civjunction website and their claim GOTM would be Plus removes that hope.

Don't buy it. Not for a second.

                  --Incredibly lame name

--Why on Earth would CFC do this? What exactly would that site have to gain? They have more users, more mods, better organized... I prefer Poly for the community, but they've got their own group, they have no need for ours.

This is bull****. Very well-executed bull****, but bull**** all the same. Well done.

No, seriously. This is the critical point. They've nothing tangible to gain. Why go through that headache? This is where your joke breaks down. A for effort, though.

Looking at the CFC thread on this subject reveals a much higher level of naivete.
                              Kinda pathetic.

But a lot more posts in the same timeframe.

CFC is much more negative on the idea too, we on Poly can easily see the advantages as CFC has all the mods, good databases for storing them and larger size. Poly has the subscription system, perhaps CFC is in need of funds which would explain why their putting one of their better features under the subscription service, CFC had to contribute something to get a slice of that money. I agree I'm not fond of formerly free service requiring subscription, perhaps if financial health improves this could be repealed.
