Actually, yes, it would. It merely would be completely deserted.
However, if the bills aren't paid, then Apolyton will cease to exist (or at least cease to be accessable)

Moreover, Apolyton wouldn't even become abandoned if a few people who have some issue with the site left it. We've had a bunch of posters leave Apolyton, because they had some issue or another, and the site's still kicking.

Who are the "we" you are talking about?
People come and go all the time here... everybody that leaves is a loss to the community, and everybody who comes is (usually) a good addition to the community.

Again, this is a private site. If you wish to have a Civ/gaming site with "your" rules, feel free to do all the work, pay the bills, and create your own community.
Maybe if you did all that, you would understand why they get to make the rules

So again, it's your choice whether to post here and be a member of the community or not. It's the same choice everybody has. Many have left to sites that better meets their needs... while others stay, and others work hard and contribute so that the site is actually better for everybody... Your choice!
