Which is ok by me, actually, because in the end we all get better products. BUT Firefox should at least acknowledge that Opera is their main source for browser innovation...
Actually IE had that before Opera did...

Seriously. Like you said, DEFAULT interface. Not that I think you are right but Opera also has the most customisable interface ever.

So Firefox will have something that even IE already has as soon as September? I'm impressed
Is it really more customisable than Firefox?

Where is the equivalent Greasemonkey customization in Opera?

Opera isn't the most innovative browser, hell, they added tabs after Mozilla...

The newest version of Opera is also starting to try to copy the simplified Firefox UI...which is a great thing IMO, Opera is like the all-in-one kitchen appliance that no one really likes.

Ah, Greasemonkey. Able to do more harm than good.

Please get your facts straight, okay?

Okay, what is it? Either it is the " bloaty terrible default interfaces for the 21st century idiot" or it isn't.

In that it allows more customization of the web browsing experience?

In September of 2001, Dave Hyatt added a tabbed browsing mode to Mozilla. This feature was release in Mozilla 0.9.5 in October of 2001

In December of 2001, Opera Software released version 6 of its Opera browser which was the first version to contain a genuined tabbed browsing mode (along with its SDI and MDI modes).

I said it was starting to, it's not there yet.

The ads, for instance, take up a lot of space.

                  It's ctrl-1, ctrl-2, ctrl-3, etc by default to select a tab.

You can also use CTRL-TAB to cycle through the tabs left-to-right, CTRL-SHIFT-TAB to go right-to-left. This scheme was chosen because it mimicks the same application-cycling mechanism in Wnidows, which is ALT-TAB and ALT-SHIFT-TAB.

The Opera version of tab-switching sounds better to me. But then, I'm probably clueless.

I never really use tab switching. I don't see what the big deal is.

or perhaps I'm just stuck in my inneficient old ways. I just click on the tab in the bottome task bar.

                        Sounds less powerful to me.

I know that, but can it be changed. I'm lazy, you see, and would prefer to press one key rather than 3 seperate keys.

This started to happen when I upgraded to 1.0.4 too, but now with 1.0.6 it seems to have disappeared again....
