Why not ask him yourself? It involved a polymeet and alcohol. (+1)

Wow, I wish I had been here to see them. And I second the request to hear about Ming's story

yin did go over the line by far. But it was a pity he didn't want to reconcile with Markos, he was good for the community IMHO.

I don't have the full story, but I was posting that night. I still didn't spam too much, I was worried about the fallout the next day. I did dare Ming to ban me though . Or whoever was using his login at the time. I also said he didn't have the balls to close one of my threads. And I think all of them were locked. I wasn't at the poly meet, but it seems there was some alcohol involved, and Ming was logged in, and other poly posters (at the meet) had access to Ming's powers... That's the way I understand it at least.

Lots of postcounts had to be restored IIRC...

Well, not all the rules we know now were in place at the time, so technically he wasn't that far across it.

                Good fight though.

Is it still viewable or deleted btw? I'd love to see it again.

Oh- yeah, that brings back memories now, I think I can recall it- was that only last summer?

Nikolai- the blowup occurred sometime around when we were talking about how yin=sid... I think it was early 2002, though I could be wrong.

He still posts here though from time to time.

Unless there was a subsequent 'war' after the one that I'm thinking of.

You see, yin r-e-a-l-l-y hated civ III... ... ...

                      the Ming story

There was a Polymeet at Ming's house. He had his login Ming cookied so you could just open Apolyton and voila, you are Ming.

All of them got drunk. Hilarity ensued. One of them opened a thread that said "now all 9 of us will each make one post and you have to guess who the real Ming is."

A lot of people guessed wrong, and I don't think it mattered if you did guess wrong or right, but people who did post had postcounts eliminated, random thread deletions, total mania.

I would've been posting that night but dumb me decided to go to bed 20 minutes before the fun started. (Of course, all the threads related were massdeleted the next morning. Some posters kept backup saves but I don't think it would be too much to miss).

And that's that! When you think about it, it really isn't all that hilarious. I mean, every moderator has one free pass for a drunken spree, right?
