Clearly there is something wrong with having two CtP moderators running the Civ4 forum.

Crap, you found out, now you'll have to be executed. Obviously it's just preparation for announcement that Civ4 really is Sid Lemur's Civilization 4: Vow to Power.

Why not drop it completely and start making good use of the upcoming civ4 SDK.

Probably because theyll be a thousand other people making "+1 happiness for white dog turd" mods for civ4, and you can still do more in the sourcecode project.
Thats not to say i wont be trying vanilla civ4 though.

Uhm, Maq, I think you'll really want to check out the modding options of Civ4.
Hint: I'm not becoming a mod there just so I can bash Firaxians for screwing up another Civ game
Scanned over the day you edited it. But also read about those options before.
What i said wasnt untrue, you can still do more in the sourcecode project, and besides, even if that were to change somehow, im not about to forget the CtP2 project because something new has come along.

Well, it basically remains to be seen how it works out. But if it does work out as suggeted, that's actually hardly true. Sure you can edit the graphics engine or MP code for CtP2, but that's not something one would ever want to do (except to fix bugs, but in case of Civ4, that's what Firaxis is for).

Hardly, but still true. And as you said it remains to be seen exactly what can be done with civ4 with the tools theyre providing. And im sure you know more than I do, no matter what, if theres a limit to what can be done, itll always be reached.
but that's not something one would ever want to do (except to fix bugs, but in case of Civ4, that's what Firaxis is for).
Well we know from civ3 that Firaxis wont fix bugs forever.
That *is* true of course
Hopefully we can see you in the sourcecode project then, unless youre still too busy
