Civ 2 Scenario League -
Apolyton Civilization Site
The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.

Well, the graphics seem to be saved. That's some good news.
However, in the sleague cache it says "showing threads 1 to 25 of 37" 25 are displayed but I can't seem to see the other 12?
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

@MarkG:
Can both those posts in the cache and on the backups be restored? Nevermind how long it takes. I think that covers most of it... I think there will be a bit of a gap between 1 week and 4 weeks ago, though.
And what about the Hints, Tips & Guides subforum? Well, if everything older than 4 weeks is on a backup, there should be only one thread in trouble and I've got that one covered.
When those posts are restored, would that also restore the post counts? If not, I look through the memberlist regularly. I've saved the relevant pages from my cache, so I have a fairly recent (a matter of a few days ago) figure of the postcount of a bunch of affected members.
@Mercator
You have my utmost admiration and appreciation for the lengths that you have gone to as moderator. Few, if any, would have put in the effort. Thank you.
On a lighter note in a very unfunny situation, I now have proof positive that someone does actually look out for drunks (see my previous post on this thread) and idiots (for asking dumb questions, see below). I just sent the following to the "ticket" office at Poly:
Gentlemen,
Holy sh*t! I must be about the only member of the SL who can more or less prove what his lost stats should be. On 14-03-2005 I started the following thread in the CIVII General/Help forum using my own stats at the time:
“I am curious about the Post Stats numbers found in "profile" at the top of every post.
For example, what do "A: 18 | D: 9 | M: 4 | HP: 94" mean? They do look a bit like D&D player stats (IIRC, in this case, an pretty good medium level fighter).
A search of Apolyton failed to turn up any information………………….”
My HP went to 99 a few days later (A = 19?). Within the last week, after five weeks of posting, I think I saw that my HP = 2. I assume that should give me an A = 20. I don’t give a hoot about D and M, which are derived values, but my HP should probably be around 10.

Thanks... But what have I done?
And those stats aren't what they're interested in. Those are all calculated from your post count and other forum statistics unrelated to this incident.
Then again, since MarkG knows the formula, I assume he could use those stats to calculate what your post count was at the time of that post.

Well, I don't have your numbers. Does that mean I shouldn't let you know if you've been smoking to excess?

I rather doubt if that is included in a moderator's job description.

I was assuming that with a known formula for converting posts to HP and A values and the explanation to my question

These are dependent on your post count. A (attack) is based on how many posts you have. D (defense) is based on what your average posts-per-day is. M (movement) is based on the proportion of how long you have been registered to your post count. HP (hit points) shows how long it's till next A increase. When HP goes to 99, next increase, A increases by 1, and HP drops to 0.
there would be no difficulty in establishing my post count with more than adequate accuracy.
Meanwhile, it's back to liquid courage to control my DT's and other forum withdrawal symptoms.

Ah, but I have to disappoint you in saying that that were just 5 pages. 3 pages from the memberlist, and 2 member profiles. I think only a handful of affected people would benefit from that.
Besides, I saved those pages in the capacity of a member of the SLeague, not as a moderator of the SLeague.
I was assuming that with a known formula for converting posts to HP and A values and the explanation to my question (...) there would be no difficulty in establishing my post count with more than adequate accuracy.
