It is not clear to me what the stuff on the right represents, but, the color scheme is really nice.

One thing for sure, Greece has done a bang up job of hosting this celebration. I wish the rest of Europe had not stayed away in such numbers for the first week. But that is another story for another day. Those are gorgeous pics and all the venues I have seen on TV are beautiful. to Greece for a job well done.

And with those pics as context, that's a great logo.

only because most stayed home fearing getting caught

Actually, if you read the article (hard for you, I know ), you'd read that they tested positive or failed to make the team after being warned they would be banned. So the USOC did IT'S job, why didn't Greece's Olympic Committee?

we have had a single positive test case, someone who was always negative in tests for the last 12 years. and it's not like he used anything really special that couldnt be traced, he was found positive on testorone...

                    but why
failed to make the team after being warned they would be banned
? why did they just get catch them and ban their asses?

Not sure... but I think it may relate to the procedure for a lifetime ban. There was a big crap fest over the whole Marion Jones issue.

Oh, and relevent to Greek doping

Greek officials took 641 boxes containing food supplements with the stimulant ephedrine from a warehouse used by Christos Tsekos, the coach at the center of a doping scandal involving star sprinters Kostas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou, a judicial sour

ATHENS, Greece -- Small amounts of anabolic steroids were found in a warehouse used by the coach of two Greek sprinters at the center of a doping scandal, government officials said Monday.

The search of coach Christos Tsekos' facilities last week was part of an investigation into whether 2000 Olympic medalists Kostas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou tried to avoid a doping test on the eve of the Athens Games.

I'm not sure if your up to date on the Balco scandal, but a bunch of American athletes were taking a designer steroid that was up to a year ago untraceable. Only a whistleblower uncovered this travesty and its reeking havoc in just about every major US professional league as well as our international competitive teams. Baseball and Track have been particularly hard hit by this scandal.

How about a logo honouring Sally Robbins, the Australian rower who collapsed during the last 500 meters of the final, only to be publicly criticized by her teammates

Looks like a two legged squid in a sombrero.

Not that that is bad thing.
