I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

                  • I wonder if I had any idea who itokugawa was when I posted the "He got lost" posts. I certainly don't now.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

                    • I've used 2 serious screen names before. Krushala and Puaxant Tuvip (it's a native american phrase). I've also had various other DL's. Don't worry, the mods know about them. And I recieved about a 1500 post count reduction for them. I first heard about this site from Alpha.owo (the original SMAC forums), shortly after SMAC came out. I registered in May 2000 with Krushala.

I had different screen names because back then you couldn't change your screen name.

The others were for entertainment purposes. Barfasm, and Fistful of Steel. Others such as Ass Clown, maryjane, maybe a couple of others.

                      • While we're reminiscing about "the List," two comments:

                        1. Maybe yin26 was a bit too giving when he said "If just one idea..." as the motto for the List. Considering that, well, maybe one idea went through. 'course part of the blame for that surely has to do with Brian Reynolds leaving.

                        2. Octopus & myself's Technology list... hmm, perhaps MOO3 took us a bit too seriously. Especially the "Lots of Techs" part. I like the idea of lots of techs, but not having to endlessly fiddle with production because it's always changing.

Still a quite interesting time, even if it tastes bad in retrospect.
                        All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.
