Should make Gibbs a consideration for top overall pick...

Drew Dalman tells Bears he is retiring. Now they need a center as well as their defensive needs. Crap.

Probably means they can't afford Maxx Crosby.

Yep, because they need a left tackle as well.

The DJ Moore trade puts the Bears about $8million under the cap. Now they are also cutting All-Pro LB Tremaine Edmunds as well. Combine those with the Dalman retirement and several other possible contract restructurings and it's clear the Bears are planning some big moves.

Biggest needs: O-line (LT and C), Safety, and D-line (Edge).

                We shall see.

Bears sign Cobe Bryant S. Tyler Linderbaum to Raiders for 3 yr. $81M contract. Bears would have been crazy to pay that or give up two first rounders for Crosby. .

Kenny Walker has signed with KC.
                    3 years, $43million.

                    Fear the Chiefs.

KC has traded for Justin Fields from the Jets to be Mahomes' backup. Possible KC starter for a few weeks if Mahomes isn't fully healthy by week 1.
                          Nice landing spot for Fields!

NFL Draft is today - this year in Pittsburgh. Makes me want to watch that crappy Draft Day movie with Kevin Costner - a classic "good bad" sports film.

Only one QB (Fernando Mendoza IN) with a first-round grade, and he will go first overall to Las Vegas. Chicago drafts 25th and will probably be shoring up the defense primarily. I'm just so glad the Bears are finally done worrying about finding a real QB (at least for now).

Day 2 (Friday, rounds 2 and 3) is supposed to be the sweet spot for quality this year. There are currently 6(!) teams with 2 first-round picks, so there could be more trades than usual.

Well it was a puzzling draft for the Bears. I liked all the picks but outside of the first two, it seemed like they were just looking for niche players that fit the offensive scheme. According to Poles there was only the second round where they looked at moving up for DT or Edge, but didn't like the cost. B-/C+.

If the sports media gives a team a B-/C+, that is a disaster. Probably in the bottom 5-6 teams in the league.

But hey, in Ben Johnson we trust!
