IMO, any given Sunday includes a game being called No Contest. Is it a ****ty way to lose a championship? Sure. But it's a free league amongst people that probably played a Civilization game at some point in the past.

The decision made is not really a precedent, since it will likely never happen again.
I would suggest co-chamipions, since this is a special league of friends.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

FWIW, Yahoo has now changed the scoring for MNF. They now list those players as "Bye" with no score.
(So now I'm down 18+, same as it was after Sunday night. Competing for a title with no QB and no WR1...)
FF, are you open to a co-champion approach? Not sure how to physically do that in the Yahoo commish tools, but I can poke around.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Hm, looks like I can make our scores equal (or whatever) in the championship game, but Yahoo software then triggers a tiebreaker sequence.
I'm gonna contact Yahoo Sports and ask if there's any way to declare co-champions.
Update: I did find an "Edit League History" function, but invoking that would negate (reset) all the other league history going back about 15 years.
Plus (surprise!) the 2022 season is both considered Final and Complete, but it's not editable yet.
Anyway, screwing up the league history to (maybe) get formal co-champs seems a bit extreme.

While doing this, I've seen the league declared "final" and seen MNF points voided as a "bye" week for all Buff-Cinc players. I swear Yahoo also disabled the usual path to their rules/ask us functionality, making it nearly impossible to find the "contact us" screen. But I did eventually find it and submitted our request for help in creating co-champs.
We are Case #13635833 and I'm told they will "follow up by email soon."

Here's the response I received from Yahoo:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting Yahoo Customer Care.
We understand Yahoo Fantasy Football managers have been awaiting further news regarding the Week 17 matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills.
The Week 17 Bills-Bengals game has been officially canceled by the NFL and will not resume. Based on our previous announcement, all fantasy points accumulated in the Bills-Bengals game will be zeroed out to reflect the official NFL record. All matchup scores and league standings are now up to date.
Here’s how this information can affect your league:
Public leagues: All fantasy points from the Bills-Bengals game have been removed and the season is over. This includes prize leagues and we are planning to send payouts during the week of January 16.
Private leagues ending in Week 17: All fantasy points from the Bills-Bengals game have been removed and the season is over.
Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to this issue, and we recognize that championship matchups have been affected by the cancellation of the game. However, commissioners can make manual changes to their league’s results via the Edit Team Points commissioner tool in private free leagues. Private prize leagues will need to reach out to Customer Care for assistance. Changes will be processed overnight and not be reflected immediately.
Co-Champions/ Editing Payouts: Co-Champions cannot be done through the system, the playoff tiebreaker will break any scoring tie. Due to legal and regulatory reasons, the payout structure created at the beginning of the season cannot be edited now.
If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, feel free to contact us.
Regards,
Dwayne

FF, Yahoo forces us to declare a single winner. How do you want to do this?Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

I am a bit torn on this, because as I have pointed out repeatedly this game is mostly luck anyway. I needed a "Black Swan" type of event to have a chance to win, and it happened.
If the game had been played normally, I also would have needed a once in a lifetime fantasy collapse to win.
But since I had my own fantasy collapse at the most inopportune time possible, I don't care if bad luck caused my opponent to lose...
I want to win when I play at anything, so I am not inclined to just say "This is fine!" and move on. But since this seems to be very important to you, and this league is a lot of fun to play in, I wont stand in your way if you decide to change the stats.
That being said, finishing second in both of my leagues (Baseball and Football) sucks. Some days are diamonds, some days are rocks...
