Clearly a skilled and seasoned manager would have foreseen this possibility ahead of time and would not have put all their eggs in one basket.

So after winning the regular season my top QB gets knocked out of the next two weeks games (by the Bears, of course) which basically ruined any chances I had in the playoffs. Of course, my other starters also didn't perform well, so I might not have had a chance anyway. Not the first time that's happened to me. 😥

Bad luck is part of the game, my top 2 RBs and WRs scored a total of 15 points this week, an absolute disaster.

Here's the latest from Yahoo:
I'm fine with "waiting for the NFL" but I think we all know they are highly unlikely to play the postponed game. With over 50 minutes to play, only 3-point differential and the only active players being my QB (Burrow) and WR1 (Diggs), by any rational measure, I'm the champion. Sorry, but screw your asterisk, FF.- These are unprecedented circumstances so we wanted to provide as much clarity as we can while awaiting the NFL’s final decision on the game.
Season-Long Fantasy with Active Playoffs - Week 17 standings will update for now, but scoring updates will be applied once a decision regarding the Bills-Bengals game status is made by the NFL. Waivers will be processed as normal for leagues playing in Week 18.
- Yahoo will be honoring the official NFL Gamebook for Week 17 by updating the stats and fantasy scores in our game to match the official record.
- If official NFL scoring changes impact the result of your Week 17 matchup, we will retroactively adjust Week 18 matchups to reflect the change.
- League commissioners in private free leagues have the choice to make manual changes through their commissioner tools but we encourage commissioners to wait until the NFL makes a final decision on the game's status.
- If your league has any active Week 18 playoff matchups, you should set your lineup as usual.
- The Week 17 Bills-Bengals game is currently in a postponed state. As such, all stats accumulated hold as is for now (as per official NFL gamebook).
IN THE EVENT OF A BILLS-BENGALS GAME CANCELLATION - If the game is declared final by the NFL and scored as is (meaning the score is finalized as 7-3), all fantasy points will remain as is.
- If the game is canceled and stats are zeroed out by the NFL, all fantasy points accumulated in the Bills-Bengals game will be zeroed out to reflect the official record.
IN THE EVENT OF A BILLS-BENGALS GAME CONTINUATION - If the game resumes (at any point in the future), scores will accrue as they normally would for Week 17 matchups. This will impact Week 17 results and Week 18 matchups may be impacted (as necessary).
- Example: A manager who wins their Week 17 matchup may end up losing after we apply stat corrections following the completion of the Bills-Bengals game. That manager’s Week 18 matchup would then be a 3rd-place game rather than the championship game.
- Re-scoring previous weeks is not something we take lightly, as these are truly unprecedented circumstances. However, we want to ensure a fair outcome for all impacted matchups. We hope to never have to implement re-scoring previous weeks in the future.
Waivers will be processed as normal for leagues playing in Week 18.

I have a great deal of sympathy for you jrabbit, but how is it right to take away the crown from FF when he did nothing wrong? I think we all just have to accept the outcome as is no matter how unjust it might seem."

NFL reportedly makes decision on Bills-Bengals game

The NFL has reportedly made a decision on the Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game that was postponed Monday night.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the NFL is expected to declare Bills-Bengals a “no contest.” The league is now working through possible scenarios to determine playoff seeding.
Florio says one possibility the league is exploring is adding an eighth playoff team to each conference. That would eliminate the advantage of the No. 1 seed earning a bye.
The Bills, Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs all would have had chances at the No. 1 seed in the AFC if Bills-Bengals were played. That is why the NFL is trying to figure out a way to level the playing field. One possible solution would be to play the AFC Championship Game on a neutral site if it involves one of the aforementioned teams.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday floated another scenario that the NFL is considering .
Whatever the NFL decides, an announcement has to be made before Week 18 begins on Saturday. The postseason picture could be significantly altered, especially if an eighth team is added to each conference.

Looking at Yahoo Twitter (and all the Really Angry people in cash leagues), we do have alternatives:
1. Use Week 18 scores for all players in lineups for the Bills-Bengals game.
2. Toss our Week 17 and do a full replay in Week 18.
3. Use projected scores for MNF players.
4. Eliminate QB and WR1 scores for both teams in Week 17 (level playing field).
5. Simply declare Vicious Rabbits the winner and doctor the scoring totals to reflect that.
None of this is automated. As commish, I have the ability to change scoring manually.
And yes, for the record, I do not accept the outcome Yahoo settled on.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

This isn't a cash league.
Just declare yourself the winner and be done with it.
This is a terrible precedent though.
I had an EXTREMELY unlucky week (my WR1, WR2, RB1 and RB2 combined for 16 points!?!).
If I would have had a normal week from those players, this would be a lot stickier. Or if you would have started Mike Evans, this would all be irrelevant. Or maybe both could have happened, or maybe none of the above.
My point is that this game is mostly luck anyway, and Rabbit had maybe the most unlucky and unfair thing that has ever happened in fantasy happen to him.
And then he lost the championship game.
If you want to rectify that just remove DeForest Buckner's points and then you will win by one point.
I don't want any hard feelings about this.

No, because if I win next week then it's still "not fair" that I had a chance to do that after being a sure bet to lose after Sunday's games.
Rabbit lost under extremely lousy, totally unprecedented circumstances. Either we accept the official scoring or we don't. If we don't accept the official scoring, then we should just call the game and be done with it. I don't want to sound like a jerk about this because I enjoy playing in this league, but I don't see a "fair" way out of the situation and I don't want any drama about it either.

I agree with FF; not a big fan of a full wk18 rematch.
It would be nice to see other league members chime in. I too would like to resolve this without hard feelings.
I'll send a league email from Yahoo. (sigh) This whole thing just sucks... good thing it's meaningless.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
