Don't be too hard on Herm. San Diego State is a good team, and a one score loss to them isn't embarrassing in the way a 30-7 loss to comparable Syracuse is.

I see it more as ASU following its normal script that it's had for eons: score a shocking upset home victory against a ranked opponent, then go on to lose against an unranked foe the next week. It's a persistent track record for them, so Herm is just delivering the same ol, same ol.

My dad's sister and her husband are Sun Devils, and their response to the loss last week was probably typical: "Yup, that's what we do. Some things never change."

This is hell. I can't even switch over to Georgia-Missouri because I would have to listen to Brian Griese gloat. The only joy I will have today was seeing that the Michigan Men are still so insecure about their fake '97 title that they decided to trot out Charles Woodson and Lloyd Carr before the game.

Stanford will beat Oregon tonight but not beat the spread.

How do I know this?

Because I put $100 on Stanford doing so. So emotionally I would either get the joy of Oregon pulling the upset, or winning decent $ if Stanford wins. But the CFB gods will not be so kind as to give me either. Stanford by 1-2.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Nebraska is this bad. I mean, I would think they have better raw talent than UCF ever has. Maybe b/c they're all Riley's recruits, they haven't bought into Frost yet? It's rather shocking.

I'm not even sure Nebraska is bad. They just keep ****ting the bed in the 1st quarter thanks to bad turnover luck and dumb mistakes, which led to a road ass-kicking against a good Michigan team after close home losses to Colorado and Troy. The turnover luck should balance out and the dumb mistakes will (hopefully) lessen as all the new players gain experience, but I don't see how they get to a bowl game now. They may only be favored in 4 or 5 of their remaining games.

Well, looks like my homerism led me to underestimate how big a hit Nebraska would take in the predictive models after that debacle in Ann Arbor. We may only be favored in 2 or 3 of our remaining games...
